"We just spent five weeks in Japan and are still talking about the food we ate here. It is nothing short of spectacular. We paid quadruple at other ryokans and this one had the best food, best location and the best onsens. It’s an older place with older, big onsens and for us that was the charm of it. The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable. The staff was incredibly kind. We went skiing one day and snowshoeing the next and ended up seeing a red fox each day. Really can’t recommend this...

"とても静かにゆっくりできる温泉でした。お風呂事態は広くないものの、大きな温泉地とは違い混んでいなく、ほぼ貸し切り状態でゆったりと入ることができました。今時珍しい混浴露天風呂があったことには少し驚きですが、解放感のあり、楽しめました。また、温泉は洗い場含め全て源泉かけ流しだったのは、私にはよかったです。施設は古いものの、汚い印象はありません。お食事も美味しくいただけましたし、値段のわりには満足です。回りにはなにもなく、一番近いコンビニが車で30分近くかかるので、都会から離れ非日常を味わうにはとてもオススメできます。ちかくの糠平湖で体験できるアクティビティも楽しかったです。"
