"I booked our reservations to a third-party booking site. Our check-in time was scheduled for three. We showed up at three and was told that due to a sellout the night before and them being shorthanded that the rooms will not be ready till 4 o’clock. We left went to the mall and came back at 4 o’clock. Apparently everybody else was told the same thing so there was probably 20 people in line to check in they had one person working in the front desk two people standing there and not doing anything. I honestly believe they were just trying to buy more time to get the rooms cleaned by not checking more people in. We did not get checked into our room till almost 5 o’clock. Our room was not clean. Our AC was broke walked back down to tell them that the AC was broke and was told that we would just have to wait. They were busy and yes they were busy and maybe on any other day the hotel would probably been Great but they shouldn’t sell out all the rooms if they don’t have the adequate staff to clean them and have them ready for check ins the next day. I had my room booked almost 4 months in advanced. I can understand that things happen sometimes, but I never received an email stating that our check-in time had changed. Furthermore the staff was completely overwhelmed and didn’t know how to handle the situation and they were very rude."

"It was clean enough. Definitely needs some renovations to the actual foundation and paint and not just furniture. The staff was so so except the bar and breakfast staff, they were a delight. Would I stay here again? If I needed to, would I recommend this to anyone? Nah. The breakfast situation was a whole ordeal. I paid an extra $2 to receive free breakfast for my entire room but only 2 of is were added. They wanted $13 for breakfast or $9 for continental. That's just too much. Just add it to the fees for a set price. Imo"

"My experience at The Starling Midtown was disappointing. From check-in, the staff was unfriendly; we didn’t even receive a simple “good morning,” something expected at a hotel of this level. The elevators were another issue: only two were working, causing long waits and overcrowding. Cleanliness was also lacking. The carpets in the lobby and breakfast area looked dirty, giving the hotel a poor overall impression. The pool was much smaller than shown in the photos, which felt misleading. In addition, the rooms had an unpleasant gasoline-like smell, and the amenities were limited for the price. Overall, for what this hotel charges, there are much better options in Atlanta. I would not recommend staying here again."
