"The hotel is in an excellent location, which is clearly its main strength. Access to the main reception does require using stairs, which may be inconvenient for some guests. Our room was as described, with a pleasant sea view. However, I felt it was somewhat overpriced, likely reflecting the premium for the location rather than the overall experience. There were a few basic amenities missing from the room, such as a glass for drinking water and milk for making tea, which would have improved comfort. Communication with staff was occasionally challenging, as English proficiency seemed limited at times. While the hotel was busy with many tourists, the overall sense of warmth and hospitality felt somewhat lacking. I also requested a late checkout, but this could not be accommodated due to the hotel being fully booked, despite rooms still appearing available online."

"Room was perfect and had an AMAZING ocean view! The staff went above and beyond and were incredibly nice and thoughtful. They made sure we had everything we needed and were there to help with anything, luggage, recommendations, directions, it was great! They had a very wide selection for breakfast and had a bar and restaurant attached to the hotel that made our first night super easy! Overall a great stay!"

"Hotel was clean and well maintained: terrace facing the sea was especially great. Ate dinner out there watching the beautiful night sky. Beach was not overcrowded (we were there in April). Food at restaurant was very good."

"The hotel la bussola is a very nice hotel with friendly staff who are very accommodating. The breakfast was great and the dinner in the restaurant was good. The proximity to the main plaza was perfect for walking. The bathroom shower design was too small for us and the double mattress were uncomfortable. I would stay there again if the bathroom and the beds are changed. "

"The room was okay overall. It was clean and fairly spacious, but unfortunately quite noisy. We could clearly hear guests in the rooms next to us and above, which was disruptive both at night and early in the morning. The shower was also quite small. The location was a highlight, about a 15 minute walk to the city centre. It felt quieter than staying right in the middle, which suited us well. We didn’t try the breakfast, but it is worth noting that only a continental option is available in the mornings, despite there being a restaurant on site. This is a suitable option if you are simply looking for a place to sleep and shower, but do not expect much beyond that. One concern during our stay was that a staff member entered our room with a key while we were still sleeping, and no proper explanation was provided, which was odd."

"We were very excited about staying here with a balcony looking out over the Amalfi Cathedral, but the hotel was having building work done on the facade, so we couldn’t see a view or use the balcony. However, the hotel told us this beforehand & gave us complimentary limoncello plus 30% off dinner in their rooftop restaurant which was excellent & did offer a beautiful view there. I’d stay here again. Great room too. "

"This property was located in the perfect location of Amalfi. The staff was amazing, our suite was absolutely stunning and wonderfully acquainted, and housekeeping was adorable with their little notes left in Italian. We enjoyed every moment and I would recommend staying here if you are considering a vacation in Amalfi. You will NOT regret it!!! Absolutely promise!"
