The hotel had a lovely laid back Amsterdam vibe while making us feel welcome the moment we arrived. we were upgraded to a suite and it was roomy, so comfortable and smelled so good- we bought two of the candles for home! "The Lloyd Hoxton was great—beautiful design, helpful staff, and close to a tram that could take you to central station. For families, they even had a play area with mud kitchen! The breakfast buffet was delicious and good value for the cost. My room was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and very nice. I do wish they offered a bathrobe and slippers for guests. The only real downsides to me were that the WIFI in my room wasn't as strong as I'd hope. For example, FaceTime calls were spotty. As a first-time visitor, I also found it a bit of a trek to get to some of the tourist attractions and wish I stayed more central (the other Hoxton was all booked up). I'd recommend staying at this location if it's not your first time in Amsterdam and you want to be in a less touristy area. Still, lovely hotel, helpful staff, and good value overall."
