I loved the staff at this place. They were so helpful and were so kind to me. It is the people who stayed at this place that made me feel very unsafe. When I asked to change rooms on account of this, the staff did so immediately and tried to place me with only females (I am a solo-female traveler). Unfortunately, that could not happen, and I was once again placed in a situation where I felt very unsafe.
This Hostel is in a great location in Amsterdam, just a 5 minute walk from museums, the Vondelpark, restaurants and downtown Amsterdam. We stayed in a double room which was very tiny but did the job. I will say it was not the cleanest, the room could have used a vacuum and a wipe down of windows and surfaces in general. The shower room was very dirty, very limited water pressure and only cold water. I heard theres hot water sometimes in the morning. Overall, great location, we felt safe but it was smelly and dirty.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Room comfort
The hostel's location is convenient, situated on the corner of a main street. However, the rooms are cramped for 12 people, with a very small bathroom and shower. Light sleepers may find it unsuitable due to noise. The reception staff are friendly and helpful, though unable to make changes. The environment can be disruptive, with some guests playing loud music or returning drunk, contributing to unpleasant odors and loud snoring. While it offers a student training camp experience and is very affordable compared to other accommodations in the city, the overall conditions may not be ideal for all guests.

Princess Hostel is in a Old building, whilst the doors and some of the showers were updated recently, the rest was very old and super warn down. The carpets original color was only to be guest. The rooms were not cleaned what do ever. The beds hopefully were changed… whilst they were OK to sleep on shared bathrooms were fairly clean. Customer service was great however, no problems checkin in and out!
If you are staying for 1/2 nights and need a cheap place simply to sleep, you might want to come here if you don’t mind a dirty room and unpleasantly smelling hallways.
Toilet broken/clogged when we arrived, no ability to store our luggage early which is what the website displayed, room quality is very poor and looks nothing like the pictures.
Shocking the situation of our room, dirty floor with rubbish all around. We couldn't date to put anything in the floor. The toilets situation was disgusting. We also found bedbugs on our beds!
I get it is a cheap hostel and would complain if it was only the lack of blinds on the massive windows or even the depressing state of conservation of the building, but keeping that dirt the place people are paying to sleep is simply disrespectful and unacceptable.
Dirty rooms with horribly dirty and uncomfortable beds. The showers and bathrooms are the worst part. Pee covered and unsterile is just a nice way to describe half of the gross condition of the toilets and showers.

Given it’s quite cheap to stay here, you do get what you pay for. The facilities are ok, but be careful with some of the shower and bathroom doors jamming.
AVOID AT ALL COST!!
The hostel was one of the worst I've ever visited. I was sold a dream by the pictures.
Bedbugs on the bed and the sheets covered in blood from the bedbugs. Would not recommend staying here
