Premier Inn, Bangor-on-Dee hotels

"Service, breakfast , spa and hotel are great. We just initially ended up with a bad room, that hadn’t been done up and was very dated and shabby. Reception moved us to a better room on 2nd day."

"The bed was very soft and dipped in the middle so my husband and I kept rolling into the middle. We mentioned this to the staff and they offered to move our room or to try with a mattress topper. We started with the mattress topper but it was too big for the bed. We noticed the mattress was over 10 yrs old. The pool is huge and is used by locals as well as guests. Usually more busy in the morning. The steam room did not work and was overall dated and needs a revamp. I noticed all the ventilators l, in the room, in the spa, in the corridors were FULL of dust. The restaurant was good (also needs a deep clean!) the option for breakfast was good and you have the option to request vegi option. Also noticed cobwebs near the lights and the windows walking into the restaurant was full of finger prints. The table was sticky. Staff were very helpful in all areas, the pool opening times are long, which is nice when you want to relax in the evening. It’s about a 3 min walk from the hotel. Overall the hotel is nice but looks like it has been neglected quite a bit. "

"Lovely modern decor. Parking at the back - not well signposted Room as described. It had been cleaned, but when we went to put our belongings in a draw, the previous persons clothing, underwear and dirty socks were still in the draw. Stain to the bedding. Use the phone to call reception- it’s was broken. Went to reception, explained this, Daria on the desk was very apologetic, and swapped us rooms with no issues with an upgrade. She was very polite and professional. Theses things happen. Hotel is very clean, and a lovely atmosphere. Opposite the train station, good location and a short walk to the shops and restaurants. We will definitely stay again. "

"Food is terrible it’s all frozen reheated and still served cold breakfast is left out all morning stone cold and even the coffees come cold tried to complain asked to cancel the breakfast for next day and said can’t refund us so paid for breakfast and never ate it … got carbonara and was just bacon and cheese pasta was bland it was terrible and I never ever complain but this is beyond a joke"

"When we arrived on a Saturday late afternoon, it was like entering a nightclub. There was a wedding with an open DJ above the bar area. It was so loud you couldn’t easily hear the staff. When in our room, the music was booming through. We asked to move to another room and they were able to facilitate this. Staff were polite and helpful. The room itself was good; a small but functional bathroom, very comfy bed and good blackout blinds. The window needed a lot of adjustment to close it which took a long time but eventually was shut. Nice to have windows that actually open though. Breakfast was as expected. Quite a good range of food but juices were sub standard, more like a weak squash than a juice. Overall, we slept fairly well and the room was fine but entering a hotel and feeling like you were in a club meant we didn’t want to have a drink at the bar or stay downstairs at all. This may have been a very different experience on a different day. "
