"Very comfortable and well thought out room and welcoming hosts. Wonderful food and tranquil surroundings within good walking country and yet not far from Penrith. "

"Great breakfast choices, full English, cereals, fruit, toast, juices, steamed haddock with poached egg. Comfortable room and excellent shower. The hostess, farmer's wife, Lesley, was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. The accommodation is on Kellah Farm in beautiful countryside. Would recommend it for a visit."

"We used the Pickled Parson as a home base for a month while visiting family. The room we had for that duration of a stay was a little small, but it was comfortable, clean and made up daily. The staff were all amazing and really made us feel at home. A very relaxed atmosphere with great breakfast options. The bar was a great option to wind down at the end of the day with a night cap.

"Very good breakfast. Staff very helpful, friendly and polite. Good location and room, but lacking in a few basics found in other places, e.g. tissues, biscuits, safe, iron. Good value though and worth staying in. Recommend access from A6. Poor TV reception, no doubt due to location but presumably could be boosted."
"Beautiful property. Pulling in the drive is stunning. The interior is well decorated. The building itself is obviously older and it shows in certain areas: the toilet was unreliable, small cracks, bit of discolouration on tiles, and the pool floor isn’t sealed well so it has bumps and bounces.
The room we booked for a family was perfect. The separation wall made the room feel much bigger and the kids loved having their own space. The TV selection was very basic and the TVs themselves were very slow.
The staff were all wonderful and very helpful.
I did have to ask a lot of questions as some information wasn’t given initially but it wasn’t too inconvenient. The swim times for children was a bit annoying because we had to plan our day around it but I understand why they’re in place. We just would have liked a bit more freedom to choose when we wanted to go rather than set times. The bed we had wasn’t super comfortable, the mattress slanted on the edge. The pillows desperately need an update. They were very flat and offered no support. However the kids single beds were comfortable for them.
The restaurant menu looked good but was expensive so we chose to eat elsewhere. Except for dessert which we did get through room service. The sticky toffee pudding was top 3 best we ever had.
The grounds are vast and great for a wander.
Overall, good stay. We would stay again as the experience itself outweighed any issues we had."
"Great family room with so much space for us all, met at reception in the evening by lovely helpful staff. The bar area was lovely, breakfast with plenty of choice and a nice garden and park area for us in the morning before our travel"
"There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the quality was good. The staff were lovely also.
My only minor niggle and it is minor weight only got two tea bags in the room. (I'm a big tea drinker) I'm sure that if I had asked more would have been provided. Plus usually in hotels you get a little biscuit on the tea tray which there wasn't.
But a bonus tick in the bathroom was individual shampoo and conditioner and shower gel.
More than happy with my stay thank you
