"The hotel was fine, and as expected. The staff were friendly. The parking cost is far too expensive, so we found alternative overnight parking in a city centre car park that was half the cost of the hotel, showing just how expensive the hotel parking is. "

"The unsecured WiFi, which required no passage, puts guests at an unacceptable risk in this day and age. Other hotels where we choose to stay provide a secure password protected WiFi. Cleaning the room every other day meant that extra towels, clean mugs, drinking water, all had to be requested."

"The breakfast was fantastic, fabulous choice of food and juices; staff were so helpful and attentive. Spa was a welcome treat, after a day of exploring the city; again, staff in spa were so helpful. Room, as rest of hotel, was spotless. The windows were rather old and hard to open ( to air the bathroom, after a shower), but the building is relatively old. The private parking was expensive, but only a short walk from the hotel and we knew the car was safe and secure. All in all, a wonderful stay at The Gainsborough, will definitely return; was a wonderful experience. "
