Not a pleasant stay
The hotel needs lots of TLC, dirty and shabby old lobby, a huge cobweb, hanging from the ceiling, was the first thing we noticed when we opened the door, old bathrooms, uncomfortable old beds, rooms had windows on parking lot, no shutters, way too hot and impossible to leave them open, laughable safe that would not work and you could just carry it away! We did not know where to leave our passports. I rented 2 rooms, way Too expensive for what they offered, one worse than the other. Extra €20 euros for parking since my husband is handicapped + city taxes I do not recommend it, many more around in much better shape and better prices.
This was part of a huge cobweb hanging from the ceiling, room was obviously not in great shape, the entire hotel needs renovation and lots of tlc

The staff doesn't speak English very much. Somebody was smoking under my window and the walls are bit thin. These are pretty much the only negatives. The bed was very comfortable and big. Bathroom was perfect for three-style hotel like this. Fresh juice and prosciutto for breakfast. Ten minute walk from the center. Grocery store and café just next door.

Comfortable stay near central Bologna
Nice clean hotel, which has an old Italian feel with some beautiful Italian art and decor. The hotel is located right on the border of the town center, making it very convenient walking distance to the main sites and attractions. For a comfortable, short stay nearby Bologna's central city center, would recommend this hotel.

A bit noisy but okay.
Hotel situated on the outskirts of the old town and a 10 minute walk into the centre under colonnades. Our room (111) was quite dark as we were situated at the back of the hotel. There was a balcony but it had no view. The room suffered with noise (music) from the cafe next door until about 6.30 am to 9.30pm so if your after peace and quiet avoid this room. There were also some noisy guests. Other than that, we had a good time, breakfast was good and it was a good spot to explore Bologna.

Bologna holiday close to city center
Stayed for 2 nights. Walking distance to city center but not too close to avoid the noise. Room was very clean. Good shower/water pressure. Breakfast was traditional European with great cappuccinos. Terrace on roof overlooking the city center - beautiful! Restaurants nearby.

It was ideally located for sightseeing and with all the porticos even if it rains you can walk about keeping dry. Bologna is a wonderful place to visit. The hotel was ideal and good value for money.

Great reception team and great location
We stayed at the Hotel Pedrini for 7 days and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It's location is extremely well placed as it is approximately a 15 minute walk to the main square, Piazza Maggiore and the Two Towers. In terms of the breakfast the variety was slightly limited with choices including bread, cheese, salami and ham slices, croissants and some fruits. However this didn't mean that the breakfast wasn't filling. This hotel is not a five star hotel and so the room and amenities offered are basic (e.g. it doesn't provide you with coffee/tea sachets in your room and doesn't have a kettle) so if you look for super fancy things in a hotel this will not be the place for you. Given that we are only interested in staying in a hotel to sleep this was the perfect choice. The reception team were also extremely friendly and catered to any needs we had such as requesting a second blanket the first evening for our beds as it was an extremely cold day that we landed on. I would easily stay at this hotel again.

Good Value
Pedrini is a 3- not a 4-star hotel, but is excellent value. Rooms are comfortable, but try to get one which does not look out on the noisy Via Maggiore. The staff are friendly and helpful, as one would expect of a family-run hotel.Breakfast are adequate, rather than sumptuous, but always accompanied by good service, and can be taken from 7 until 11am. The hotel is within walking distance of the town centre (10 to 15 minutes, even for 'oldies' like us).

Lovely little place
We stayed here for 3 nights, and although it is right on the edge of the old town, it’s still well situated, a 5 Minute walk to the centre, and the bus to the station is a 2 minute walk. The breakfast is limited, but plenty of it, and the staff are friendly and helpful (not all speak English). The rooms are big and kept really clean, and although the street outside can be noisey you cannot hear it from the room, unless you have the windows open, but the room has air con. The only thing I would say is it is more of a B&B than a hotel, as there is only vending machines to get drinks after breakfast has finished, no bar for a night cap. But very pleasant stay, I there is nothing that would stop me going back :-)

Room not exactly as hoped or described.
We spent one night in Hotel Pedrini. Whilst we couldn't fault the staff, the room we were given was disappointing and did not live up to our expectation and as the photos show. Poor decoration, dirty floors, no headboard for the bed and a faulty door lock. We asked to change room but the hotel informed us that they were fully booked. Despite this, the hotel is in a good location, breakfast OK and we would recommend staying here as a base to explore Bologna if only for 1-2 nights.

Some rooms are small. They are nicely fitted out. There is a large terrace at the back of the hotel. Rooms at the back are quieter. I often stay here as it is convenient for buses to my family. It is quite near the centre and walkable. Breakfast is simple, with choices.

A quiet, relaxed hotel within easy walking distance of the main historic and cultural sites in the centre of Bologna. City hotel with terrace
Nicely refurbished since I last stayed. At the city boundary by Porta Maggiore. My room (superior double) was quiet and had a balcony with table and chairs, at the back of the hotel overlooking the hotel terrace. An attractive outlook at the back for a city hotel. Most rooms are small, also the bathroom, but I had a large, effective shower. Front desk is 24 hour. Breakfast simple but satisfactory. Tasty brioche! Staff pleasant. Wifi free and good. Would stay again.

Lovely hotel, quiet but central
I didn't make much us of the terrace etc. because I was always out exploring, but my room was lovely. Very spacious, with separate vestibule area between the bathroom and bedroom, made me feel like I had my own little studio flat in Bologna. The decor is pretty gorgeous and there were two good full length mirrors, a nice desk with good storage, a fridge and a large wardrobe. The towels were changed daily and I found the bed very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The wifi was reliable, although I did have to keep logging back in now and then, but that's fair enough. The location is great, on the Strada Maggiore, so it's ridiculously easy to navigate to he centre and really not far. There's also a nearby bus stop which I used when I went to the train station for a day trip to Florence, but most of the main sights and some great restaurants and shops are all within easy walking distance, including the park of I Giardini Margharita, just round the corner. Having said that, it's just far enough away from the centre that you needn't worry about noise or anything. I did have one issue when I was there, as th shower didn't work on my last morning but, as I didn't have time to speak to any of the hotel staff before I had to go to the airport, I don't think it would be fair to criticise as I'm sure they would have done something about it if I'd asked. I will certainly be returning to Bologna in the future, and I would gladly stay in the same Hotel again.

Location is good. Breakfast experience was acceptable. But breakfast room is pretty small. We had to wait in the line to get seated which could be frustrating for visitors. Hotel staff could be more able to understand English since it is the only language we could communicate with them. We enjoyed with our overall experience in this hotel.

Strong small of cigarette smoke
The staff at this hotel were lovely, and the hotel is around 15 minutes' walk from the city centre. The room was clean. However, the room had a really very strong smell of cigarettes. It was also very noisy - there are no curtains or carpets to absorb noise and I could hear other guests' televisions.

Good hotel close to the historic centre
Very good hotel within about 20 minute slow walking distance to the historic centre of Bologna. If walking from the station then add at least an extra 30 minutes but can get a bus. Staff very friendly and helpful except for one older man on reception who did not seem very happy to engage. Breakfast excellent with a wide variety of croissants, toast, cold meats and cheese, yogurts, fresh fruit and juices and whatever type of coffee you would like, freshly made for you by two very helpful ladies. The room was very clean, bed comfortable, but we did miss a mirror in the bedroom, only mirror was in the bathroom. Our room overlooked the road but we were not disturbed by traffic noise in any way. Bathroom very clean and modern, looked quite new. A couple of shower gel sachets were provided and small tablet of soap. Overall if looking for a good hotel, at the right price this is ideal, as all the main sights are very close and easy to get to. The reception will give you a map of the city which is very useful and they speak English so no problems with language. Would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to friends or use it again ourselves.

Decent room for a good price
Near to the main square and the university area with lots of good restaurants not too far away. It was a bit of a hike (45 mins) from the train station though, although there are many buses available. A comfortable room with a full-size shower. Great breakfast and friendly front desk folks. I'd definitely stay again.

Pleasant, good value, centrally-located hotel
Booked at fairly short notice, so was pleased to find the price very reasonable. Easy to find, located on one of the main streets in Bologna, close to the centre but in a quiet and pleasant area. Staff were competent and had good English, though not overly friendly. We didn't try the breakfast due to the location of a number of bakeries and caffes nearby. Pleasantly surprised to disocover we had a balcony, although we had a double bed despite booking a twin room. Overall a very pleasant stay on a budget.

gracious service. SUPER CLEAN. GREAT BED. GOOD BREAKFAST. loved the warmth of the personnel, not stiff...but totally professional. the only setbacks: good hike from historic center (though technically it is in the historic center) and i wanted a rooftop terrace...this place has a terrace and it is typically surrounded with homes...but it is on a second floor. Great shower!!!!and WIRELESS SERVICE RELIABLE.

Good location, great room
We had a great room (comfy bed and good air-conditioning) on the 4th floor with a small terrace (No. 401). The location was good- 15 minute walk to the two leaning towers and good selection of restaurants nearby. The only downsides was the breakfasts- a very small buffet selection and no fruit. We were told breakfast was 7am-10am. We came down at 9.40 to find only 2 croissants and 2 slices of meat and cheese left, though the receptionist did say later if we told her what we wanted, she would hold it for us. We came down for 9am the next day and a better selection was available, but never any fruit despite a promise of some the next day.

A good, quiet hotel
The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. Even though their English was limited, there was always someone around who could manage and they were unfailingly helpful when I needed help. The location of Pedrini is good - about ten minutes walk from the centre along a quiet street. Nearby are several small groceries, including an organic one, close to a nice vegan restaurant. Further in, there are of course all sorts of place to eat and drink. A nice place to stay overall.

Good location. Neat & tidy hotel
Neat & tidy hotel which is within walking distance of the main attractions but far enough of way from the main busy areas. We booked & pre-paid for the hotel only a day or so before our booking and whilst travelling and so did not have a printed email confirmation, this proved a problem on checkout as the receptionist did not speak any English and could not understand we had already paid and kept trying to charge us, this was resolved in the end by another member of staff but I would advise either having confirmation or having a greater knowledge of Italian than we did!

A great deal and a great price.
I stayed here for 8 nights. It's a small hotel surrounded by the neighborhood, so it's not the quietest in the world, I could hear the neighbors having dinner, talking on the phone, etc., but I was on that side of the hotel, and that's part of Italian city living. My friend had a street-facing room and said that it was so quiet because of double-glazed windows, she couldn't believe it. I had a terrace attached to my room (Rm. 111) and loved it. The lighting was not your standard hotel lighting; it had bright overhead lighting and plenty of bed-side and table lamps. It has been very recently renovated and is quite nice and functional. It's just inside the city wall, and about a 10 minute walk to Piazza Maggiore. The staff gave great recommendations for eating out, they were super helpful with everything and very friendly. The breakfast was standard Italian, fresh croissants (ranging from cream filled to whole grain and no salt/sugar added, nice touch), yogurt and cold hams and cheese. Very reliable and fast (I thought) Internet in the room. I would HIGHLY recommend. And, I paid less than my other colleagues by booking thorugh Expedia (and in dollars). And this hotel is also cheaper than many other comparables.

Hotel Pedrini - an hotel of 2 types
I spent a week in a double room with my daughter at Hotel Pedrini - where everything was expected of a hotel of this type - the breakfast waitress was a little unfriendly and unhelpful at first but she improved with time. The traffic seems to penetrate the double glazing and the floors being of marble/clay means you hear every footfall and chair scrape. My daughter needed to stay a few more days and was moved to a room on a floor above with an outside bathroom where unfortunately she was disturbed by an all night in the room next door one night. Overall good location, nice hotel but a little noisy.

Hotel Pedrini- bad odor
This hotel was perfectly located in Bologna, walking distance to downtown. However, when we entered the hotel it seemed like people were using the rooms by the hour and paying cash. Our first room located on the first floor was old, but clean, however the profound odor in the hall was overwhelming. We immediately felt sick and were not sure what to do. The front desk then changed us to a room on the ground level that was the handicap room. It was ok. We would not stay there again.
