Superb experience! Excellent service from the staffs! Felt respected throughout our time there. Beds are super comfy, rooms are spacious! Breakfast is alright and the hotel arranged airport transfer for us (additional fees applied).

We Cycled around the wineries, sampled the wine where we stayed, ate in their great restaurant options, in a fabulous setting, had a massage at the spa and swam in the lovely pool area. All in all we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

We had a terrible experience at this hotel that demonstrates its poor management, largely incompetent staff, and utter lack of customer service. Ahead of arrival, the hotel did not communicate how many of the facilities were closed due to COVID-19 (nor was it indicated on their website). Only 1 of 3 restaurants was operating and we couldn’t get reservations there for each night of our stay (there are no other restaurants in the immediate area). Guests were only able to reserve gym access by hiring their private trainer for 70 euros an hour. The spa—the main draw of the estate—was almost fully booked and we were unable to get the services we wanted (most hotels of this caliber call you beforehand to make sure their guests can benefit from their facilities versus the public). Examples of other issues- the reception called early in the morning to ask a question about room cleaning, waking us up. There were many times throughout the visit where the front desk did not pick up our phone calls, making it necessary for us to walk to the desk. Bugs and spiders in curtains that had not been cleaned. On the final bill, we were wrongly charged for multiple items. We did manage to get a booking for massages at the end of our stay, and were extremely disappointed. They charged a different price than we were told upon booking (and that was in the brochure) and were denied use of the steam room/hammam unless paying 40 euros per person (again, contrary to what we were told and the brochure).

Stunning place
The place is absolutely stunning, things you can do are relax by the pool, soak in the jacuzzi, go for a long walk or for a bike ride. Restaurant options are indeed pricey but the whole experience is worth it. Breakfast should be included in the nightly price.

A five star resort located in a vineyard. The welcome reception was warm and welcoming. The service through out our stay was top notch, food and wine served in the restaurant were superb in quality. The vineyard and the walk in the forest was very enjoyable. A great place to let your body and mind relaxed. Highly recommended for a relaxing retreat vacation.

I was disappointed with this hotel and would not return. At first glance it looks pretty enough - charming, elegant etc. The reception is cordial and efficient. We had opted to stay in the Chateau le Thil - which also looked idyllic - tranquil and secluded. Our room was lovely. However , after these first impressions things began to deteriorate. At Le Thil - they literally provide you with a room for the night and a very basic breakfast - and that’s it. No provision is made whatsoever for the guests to enjoy the outside space. 2 old wooden deck chairs under a tree and 4 rickety and uncomfortable metal tables and chairs on an untended and mostly inaccessible terrace . No outside lighting. Nowhere you can get a drink or a basic snack other than from your own minibar, which you must consume in your room. No TV - that’s OK if you can enjoy the outside space, but you can’t find anywhere to relax with a book. You can cycle or drive to the main hotel. The facilities there are also well below par for a hotel in this price bracket. A small basic pool with insufficient space - 16 loungers and 4 umbrellas - and no way of getting a drink unless a waiter just happens to be doing his rounds ( sporadic) -otherwise you must schlepp through reception in your swimming gear towards the bar. There are more sunloungers outside the gated pool on the grass. Your wet feet get dirty from the soil . The hotel doesn’t do snacks, afternoon tea etc. The ‘tapas’ bar sells only wine and cold nibbles

It was beautiful! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate and very spacious. The whole place was peaceful and very relaxing. My only observation was that there maybe wasn’t that much choice for a light lunch.

This property is very unique being that it is situated among the vineyard and across from Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte. Everything from the rooms to the grounds are absolutely great. Their restaurants are also excellent. The staff was also really helpful and courteous. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The only thing I would change is the way they run their spa... you cannot enter their spa unless you book a treatment with them, which I think is a bit harsh given how much we spent with them both for our nightly rate and our restaurant expenditures.

DECEIVING STAY
I'm writing to express my frustration with our stay during a recent anniversary trip. We were recommended your hotel by family friends and were very much looking forward to enjoying Les Source de Caudalie. Instead, we experienced extreme displeasure throughout our entire stay. I've never experienced anything like this in my life. When booking our stay, it's incredibly misleading through your online presence. We were under the impression we were staying at Les Source de Caudalie. Instead, we arrived to realize we were staying at another location, Chateau De Thil. Due to this, we were made to feel by the staff we were an inconvenience various times throughout our stay. I want to be very clear that it's hugely deceiving when people book through third-party websites. It appears as if you are staying at the main resort and only in fine print, scrolling down the email, does it say where your room is. I recommend you separate out Les Source De Caudalie from Chateau de Thil. It's NOT the same location and experience whatsoever.

Exceptionally beautiful hotel located in vineyard of Château Smith Haut Lafitte. The buildings are very attractive and the rooms and bathrooms comfortable. There are three restaurants Michelin starred La Grande Vigne, a more casual restaurant La Lavoir and a charcuterie wine bar. All are excellent. The hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool and a gym. The spa has a thalassotherapy style pool and steam room. There is a small farmyard with goats chickens and ducks. The Chateau has tasting rooms and a boutique. It is about 30 minutes from Bordeaux airport

Beautiful place.. But very HOT rooms.. Biggest issue is the Spa.... what Spa? Never any availability.. ever! Stayed 3 days.. fully booked.. even though hotel was not? I bit of staffing issues I think? So don't expect to ever use the Spa! Go for the Wine and Food therapy...

Beautiful but painful
Wonderful property, good service, great food but very lax communication and security as we had to move rooms during our stay to another property 1.5KM away. Now even-though they have cars, they dont provide a shuttle service between the properties..so you must walk or ride a bike. Now the bikes were all gone when we tried to visit the main site for breakfast. Also, when we checked into the 2nd property, there was no receptionist, no explanation how to enter the property ( our taxi had to call), the entrance to the property is wide open and in the end we found our room was open ( no security cameras either in the chateaux) with our luggage inside. We of course complained but to simply hear, "oh sorry for that, we have never had a problem before". I found the staff friendly but very inflexible. Also I was quoted a lower rate for an additional night stay but when the bill came, they tried charging at a higher level..many nice things about the stay but still feel quite annoyed at the very poor attention to their guests needs who are still paying $500+ a night + wine+ food etc..Nothing was done to address the massive security issue i felt they exposed us to, also weak wifi throughout so working was a challenge.

This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. If you are in Bordeaux you MUST stay here. Riding bikes around the chateau, relaxing in the beautiful rooms, drinking wine on the padio - and the SEVEN course dinner was amazing! I only stayed one night but will be saving my $$$ for more nights next time!! I LOVE this place!!

The hotel and the surrounding area are great, picture perfect, tasty with a lot of activities. Hotel staff is a little forgetful, - for example when asked to organise a wine tour they never bothered, when I asked to book hotel restaurant for a birthday party they said they did but on the night it turned out they didn't bother again. Make sure you chase them properly.

We arrived for our honeymoon on the 1st day they reopened after the holidays. When we arrived, we were not given a tour of the property (it's quiet big), we weren't told about tours, or the restaurants, or the spa, etc. We knew about the indoor pool from photos but they said it was not open, which was weird. Our room was nice, but not very private, and when we used the wifi, it didn't work. I approached the front desk and told them about our privacy concerns and the internet and they told me that the person who deals with the internet is not there today.And they wouldn't switch our room. Wouldn't you assume on opening day, you'd have all the important people there? The property was beautiful but every interaction with the staff was bad. By our 3rd day there, the pool was still not working and neither was the wifi. We asked if we could use the spa pool and they said yes, but when we went there, they refused my entry saying I didn't have a reservation. I explained but she just said we're closing in an hour minutes and they were full. I tried to stay positive, but after leaving the hotel I thought about how upset I was, so I wrote them saying it was a disappointing experience with the staff and not having amenities available. The director wrote back and said this was an isolated incident and offered us a room upgrade and dinner, which I thought was nice, but since we live in the US was useless. I asked if they could offer us something else- to which I never received a response.

I had been hoping to visit for quite some time, following the posts on social media, drooling at the photos. It did not disappoint! The surrounding area is stunning and you feel relaxed even before getting out of the taxi. 20 minutes from Bordeaux airport is the perfect distance. The buildings are in good condition, and clean. There is enough of originality vs refurbished / looked after to look new. Check in was quick, as was a quick tour of the amenities. The food was exceptional - enhanced by the vegetable patch you can walk past, and the locally sourced ingredients. Dinner at La Grand'Vigne was absolutely wonderful, and a lovely treat. The service was very good, with the Sommelier topping the list - wonderful wine selection and knowledge! We were lucky to have a ground floor room with a view of the vineyards. Breakfast outside listening to the birds was a lovely start to the day. The rain didn't dampen things, with the fresh smells and fresh air in the area. It is a perfect destination, no matter the weather! The spa was again very relaxing and high standard spa treatments! I would definitely recommend and return!!
