"This was a very nice hotel for our stay. The room was clean. Housekeeping as great. The AC unit worked well. Appreciated the small fridge. The bars in the bathroom were helpful for me. I felt more safe than in your average bathroom. We were able to park our EV hybrid in the underground parking. We had our own charging cord. That was very helpful as we did a lot of driving in town and back home to southern California. The staff member who checked us in was pleasant and friendly. But the gentleman who handled the evenings rubbed us the wrong way on a couple of occasions. The first night, the sink had issues. The cold water, was very hot, like hotter than the hot. Then it trickled down to a very weak stream. We understood that someone would fix it in the morning. We were reassured we would be compensated for that first night's stay. The next day, the water was back to "normal". But by night, the cold would get very hot again. Later, I had to go to the front desk to ask for another blanket. He seemed a little bothered that he had to come out to help me. But he eventually gave me another blanket. When I asked for the QR code for the housekeeping staff, he checked around a bit then just told me to leave cash. Ok... When we checked out we asked about the compensation and he told us he couldn't do anything because we booked through Expedia. He never took the initiative to inform us. It's unfortunate that our interactions with him tainted our experience at the Carlyle."

"It was a small but clean room. The pool is very small, it only goes up to 4 ft, good for young children. The staff was very friendly & helpful. The breakfast in the morning made up for anything that was lacking. There was a great variety of food, fresh fruit & good coffee, included in the cost of the hotel. The location is great-not far from the freeway & in between San Jose, Los Gatos & just about a half an hour drive to Santa Cruz. Over all, it was a nice place to stay & I would stay there again."
