Taj Cape Town

Taj Cape Town

10/10 Excellent
"I've stayed at The Taj many times, this time was a different purpose as I had a medical procedure to undergo. I wanted to know I could recuperate afterwards in a hotel where I would have a spotless clean and quiet room, plenty of space, great amenities, full blackout curtains, comfortable bed, choice of pillows, and having great staff on hand to take care of whatever I would need in my stay. Knowing I would not really leave my room for a few days I need a great room. All of this I got, and great in-room dining. I was able to enjoy the J-Wellness spa before I had my procedure which was great for being relaxed and ready for that. As ever The Taj and the wonderful staff who work there really excelled at making it a great experience. I will be back soon."

Pepperclub Hotel

Pepperclub Hotel

8/10 Good
"I'll start with the positives: - The temperature and shower pressure in the bathroom were amazing! - The views from our room on the 15th floor were stunning. We had a 270degree view of the mountains, plus a balcony. The downside about the balcony was that the hotel would not provide patio furniture, and staff suggested that we move the side chairs from the living room in and out of the room to use on the balcony... - Most of the staff were incredibly friendly! Sandy in housekeeping, Gerald at the concierge desk, and Z in the Copa restaurant stand out! - The location on Loop streeet, close to Long Street, and a couple of blocks from Bo Kaap was awesome. Everything else was a quick/affordable Uber ride away. Cons: - The layout of the one-bedroom suites was a bit awkward. The bedroom was small with minimal walking space on either side of the bed. The closet was also small and awkwardly placed. There was no dining furniture, though there was space for it and the pictures of the room showed a dining table in the suite. The bathroom vanity lacked functional counter space. I really wanted to use the club, but it didn't seem super clean. - Breakfast was very monotonous (same thing every day), and there were not a lot of options other than fruit if you don't eat meat/pork/dairy/eggs. We spent a week and got bored with the food options quickly. There were certain dishes that were quite good and served as consistent fallbacks (smoothies, pancakes, cheese boards)."

InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town by IHG

InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town by IHG

10/10 Excellent
"Location was unbeatable. The hotel is directly connected to the mall and also within walking distance of the Oranjezicht City Farm Market, which made getting around incredibly convenient. The whole surrounding vicinity felt safe, and the views from the hotel were stunning. With Table Mountain in the background, we even caught a rainbow while having breakfast by the window overlooking the wharf โ€” such a memorable way to start the morning. If I were to nitpick, I would suggest going down earlier for breakfast if you want to enjoy the spread at its freshest. Perhaps because we were there on weekdays and turnover was lower, some items felt like they had been sitting out for a little while when we went later in the morning. Nothing major, but worth keeping in mind. The room itself was comfortable and well appointed, and we particularly appreciated how easy the hotel made our stay. Between the waterfront location, the views and the convenience of having the mall right next door, it was a very easy base for exploring Cape Town without feeling removed from the city. Overall, I would happily stay here again, particularly for a first visit to Cape Town. The location really is the standout โ€” convenient, scenic and in an area where we felt comfortable walking around."
