Geneva airport, unofficially known as Cointrin Airport, is located two and a half miles northwest of the city centre.
The airport is linked to the city by a good rail and bus network. There are also available shuttles from the airport to many of the big ski resorts in the mountains.

How to get to and around in Geneva
Like most Swiss cities, Geneva’s public transport system is genuinely world class. There are frequent bus, tram, train and boat services that run on time and cover all of the city’s most important destinations.
The old town is easily traversed on foot, where you can see some of its many highlights, including a stroll in the English Garden and visiting St Peter’s Cathedral.
It’s also a great city to explore by bicycle, as its fairly flat and there are plenty of rental bikes available.

What are the must-sees in Geneva?
One of the city’s biggest attractions is the Jet d’Eau, a huge fountain of water pumped 140 metres into the air. It’s beautifully lit at night and can be seen from miles around, as well as soaking the surrounding area in water.
St Peter’s Cathedral is another highlight, with the accompanying museum detailing its rich history.
The old town is the jewel in the city’s crown. Take a leisurely stroll around, popping into the various antique shops and visiting Rousseau’s birth place.
The Quartier des Grottes is the hip part of the city, where you’ll find artists hanging out in the bars and cafes.
