The gourmet dining options are outstanding; we especially loved the authentic Mexican at El Patio and the Italian food at Portofino .The resort's location in Akumal is perfect for snorkeling with turtles, and we took full advantage of the beautiful beach and watersports. Evenings were filled with fantastic entertainment. Every detail, from the pristine rooms to the lush landscaping, contributed to an unforgettable stay. Highly, highly recommend!"

"I had a wonderful time at the Hotel Catalonia, I'm planning on returning to Mexico in the future, and staying at this resort again. There was always something to do, and always a friendly face around the corner. Loved the food and the drinks, and they worked so hard to keep the beach clean during seaweed season. "This place is amazing. The most friendly and accommodating staff. Everyone is so nice. The Expedia butler Fernada made all our reservations for dinner prior to coming. Communication was great. Butlers on site were so nice. We had Mafer Jose and Patricia. They were the best and exceeded all our expectations. We will decently coming back. Traveled my husband myself and 3 daughters 24 21 and 18. "

"We enjoyed our stay at this resort. There are a lot of amenities on this property and many excursions available around the area. I read reviews about seaweed on the beach and there is seaweed currently, but the staff makes a great effort to clean it up. We enjoyed swimming in the ocean, the snorkeling is great, and the pool is amazing! "
