"Staff and property for the most part were very good. The pool was very crowded and all chairs were covered and mostly unoccupied for much of the day. We were told at check in that if a chair was unoccupied for more than 30 minutes or so, the towels and possessions would be cleared. Didn't happen. "It is a beautiful 'resort' where we felt safe the whole time. It is also a timeshare property so everywhere you go they ask for your room number to verify your all inclusive (even though you do have wristbands). The service was either amazing or they didn't care to be there. Hit or miss no matter how nice we were. The cleaning staff was amazing. Out of the five restaurants, only two are included, nothing special. The buffet was good, great to have food available all day but wasn't the greatest....

"This resort is beautiful. It’s also fun. We loved it. The only complaint is the dinner food. Breakfast and lunch at the pool bar were good, but dinner? Not good at all. The sushi place was pretty good and room service was ok but everything else was barely edible. We aren’t foodies so we still managed to make it work and have a great time. But it’s something to consider if a great fancy dinner on vacation is important to you. Also, the upgrade wasn’t worth it. "

"We stayed in the Privileged Family Suite. The room was very dark and smelled moldy. We didn't like it at all. The small pool on the terrace was very outdated. The food in the buffet was fine but nothing really amazing. We preferred the restaurants for dinner (especially the Bloved and Grill) and didn't have any problems to make a reservation. "This is our second stay at Grand Park Royal in Cozumel. We had a wonderful time again. The rooms are nice with a stocked fridge and balcony. They were cleaned daily. The food leaves a little to be desired but it’s free. We would prefer more breakfast options at the food bar. There are plenty of activities to do while on the resort. We will be back. "
