"The staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. The food was very good. The hotel is very comfortable, well furnished and very quiet being a little remote. No outside noise and very little noise inside the hotel even with coach parties staying over. Looking forward to my next visit."

"The room was dated but clean, apart from the loud and dusty extractor fan. The pool are was nice and had places to sit with a nice view. The real let down for me was the food, it wasn't great, the fine dining was the worst part, I couldn't eat the starter, the main was OK and the desert hard. The person that checked us in wasn't friendly and when we checked out noone asked how our stay was so think they know they have issues. Both restaurants weren't great and breakfast was just OK, if food is your thing I wouldn't stay here."

"This hotel was in the heart of Bowness and Windermere. The staff on the whole were fantastic and friendly. The room we had was very spacious and comfortable with a brilliant view of the lake. Breakfast was as expected for £15 "

"The facility is a beautiful historic building with picturesque grounds. Unfortunately we were only there for 1 day. Food and wine were terrific and the very busy owners helped us with some very silly requests to operate the radiator and find global news on the TV. I highly recommend this fine hotel!"

We had booked room only and were still able to book a table for evening meal in the restaurant at check-in.The food quality, presentation and service in the restaurant were excellent. The bar area relaxing for an evening drink. Room was clean comfortable and had all the extras we needed for our stay. The hotel is conveniently located to access Keswick and the surrounding area. Would definitely stay again if spending time in the Keswick area."
