"Its was like stepping back in time . "

"Multiple issues - room smelled so bad of damp. No TV on the wall - there was a bracket. Booked en-suite double room. For the shower not to work, no cold water from the sink tap, hot water trickled. Reported the issue was told by the time I arrived back for the second evening it would be sorted. Still no shower, and same trickle of cold. Minimal hot water from tap. The toilet cistern wouldn’t refill by the time I was leaving so unable to flush. On check out reported again, to be told by the person who check it was working, but he didn’t check the shower, the female who I had encountered on check in, reporting the issue, and collecting the key back reassured me it was working and there was no previous issues mentioned and they did have a problem that was now fixed. Very uncomfortable bed, small double - thankfully was a solo traveller. Cleanliness was none existing, a prison cell would have been better. Staff really didn’t seem to care - room was paid for so they got what they wanted. Breakfast was included but the state of the rooms and guesthouse would put anyone off consuming food from such a place. Basic amenities like running water is a must, especially when specifically booking an en-suite room. It might be a little cheaper but avoid at all costs."

"Well by far the most bizaare check ins ever!!! The staff were lovely. The rooms were clean and comfortable. A few problems with checking in, we were given a key to a room already in use. But overall it was fine for a night. Bar was noisy wnd rhere was a lot of banging which wadnt heloful with a 4am start. Shame tou couldnt book without breakfast. "

"I pre-booked the hotel weeks before I traveled. The website said that the retreat house had restaurants, lounge, and bar amenities that I thought would be useful for my stay. The restaurant was not opened when we arrived. The bar//lounge had no staff. We asked the only employee we ever saw when the restaurant would be open and she said it’s only open for breakfast. We came downstairs in the morning at 8:30. The sign on the dining room said that breakfast was served at eight to ten. No one to be found anywhere a ghost town. Our room was on the third floor and there was absolutely no water pressure in the shower. There was no television and the Wi-Fi was intermittent. The windows weren’t insulated and it was cold, even though it had been a sunny day. My traveling companion turned the heater on, but she never did get warm. The listing on the website looks like a magnificent place and we were really looking forward to a wonderful comfortable stay but we never had any contact with service personnel or employees that made us feel welcome no greetings no goodbye very very odd."

"Check in was quick and easy, every staff member I spoke with was helpful and friendly, food was excellent and very reasonably priced, room was clean and tidy, only small downside is room was rather small as was the TV, but did nt take anything away from a pleasant stay "

"This cabin really portrays the beauty that is Scotland. This was my fiancé and I’s first time out of the country and I couldn’t have picked a better place to stay for a week. "
