"The room was lovely and the hotel is central to Napier. Lovely furnishings but sparsely equipped with only the essentials. Great for one night. Bed comfy, shower perfect. Fabulous little gym which is very clean and well equipped for a cardio workout and range of weights. Cannot fault the breakfast. Freshly cooked food, poached eggs were perfect. Staff friendly."

"I stayed here before when it was a 24 hour hotel. Beautiful, large rooms. Mine was completely updated, because of competition it is now room only and a 12 hour reception. But my suite was huge, cheap.beautiful balcony onto river and just a fantastic family space. Glass lift. I have stayed in portside which is nice but i loved my couple of nights in the Emerald."
