Fantastic location
This was the perfect location to explore Edinburgh, just a few metres off Princes Street. The room had everything you’d need for either a night or a week. We used the paid parking that they suggested and it was only a 5 minute walk away.

I loved my 1 room unit at 18 Hanover! Very quiet, close to all the Royal Mile attractions and castle. There was a room being painted in the unit next to mine, so there's strong paint thinner fumes in the hallway, but they dissipate soon as door is closed, I didn't find them troublesome. The unit was very clean and looked newly renovated, with clothes washer/dryer, dish washer, mini fridge, espresso machine, rain shower head and hand held shower head. There's no outlet in the bathroom except for a razor (two prongs) so I brought my own extension cord to use the blow dryer and hair curler in the mirror.

Fabulous apartment
We couldn’t fault the apartment. It had everything we needed and right in the centre of town. Especially loved that it had a coffee machine! Also very clean and lots of amazing space. Will definitely be booking again! The only negative was that it needed a long mirror in the bedroom area :)

The property was very clean and in good working order. The area was very central to everything. Old town is a 10 min walk across the park and the shopping center was very close. Check in and check out is easy. The only issue was that the bed was very uncomfortable and the bed leaned which made it difficultto sleep. Other than that, I would definitely stay at this property again

Loved the location and the apartment. We felt secure and love the ease of the check in process. Just be ready for the steps! We expected them and enjoyed the extra workout!

We were all very happy with our stay at Destiny Scotland while visiting Edinburgh. Clean and modern with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Restaurants, coffee and grocery all within walking distance.

Great location, close to everything. Our 3rd floor room was clean and very quiet. It is all stairs, no elevator. We knew to expect this and was not a problem for us but something to be aware of should you book here. The bed could have been a bit more comfortable, easily resolved if the owner just added a mattress topper.

Modern and Clean. Great Location.
The location is AMAZING. The apartment was clean and spacious. The train station and any bus you could need is literally across the street. Plenty of restaurants and shops in walking distance. You can see the castle from your room, and your room from the castle. The communication was not perfect. I tried communicating by email but didn’t hear back because their messages went to spam. I had to bite the bullet and pay for an international call to reach them. Once I did, check in was easy. The one big con is that the bed is terribly uncomfortable. Could not sleep on it. The couch was good though. There is no TV in the bedroom, but the one in the living room was easy to use. The kitchen was clean and well stocked. The bathroom could use a couple more towel hooks and a shelf inside the shower. A couple guys walked into our room while we were there. The office called to apologize and said it was someone from their staff. Not a problem, but an email would have been better then a phone call. The staff on the phone and in the office (where we stored luggage) were helpful and friendly. There is no air conditioning but the windows open enough to let in air and keep it comfortable. This was even during warm weather in June. The streets we’re being steam cleaned one night, which was a bit noisy but not terrible. Except for the bed, which is a pretty big problem, I would recommend this place. The location really was excellent and the space was modern and clean.

Comfortable, clean, easy walking distance for many attractions and shopping. Very near Waverley railway station. Nice to have a sofa to sit on, fridge to keep drinks cold.

Good spacious apartment but not a superior room.
Two Superior rooms booked. Spacious apartment and clean. Couple of extras would have made it a superior standard. Full length mirror, a table with a mirror and decent light to apply make up and do hair and/ or a shelf in the bathroom to put make up bag on. Also shower door did not close, crack in sink, and marks on bathroom door. Clock did not work in one of the rooms & was showing wrong time in the other. No coat hooks in one of rooms. The recycling bins did not have a cardboard/ paper option. If your not able to easily walk ask for room on first floor as quite a few steps to climb to third floor.0

A great all-rounder
Great location, beautiful appt and great kitchen utilities ie - coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine etc. We were on fist floor so no problem with lots of stairs. We used left luggage facility at their office nearby and that worked well too.

Excellent location. Good value. Newly renovated with good workmanship. But the design of the renovation was clearly done by someone who never spent a night in the apartment. Also, we did not appreciate having to walk up 71 steps from street level to the apartment. I wish I'd known about that.

It was a reasonably-sized studio apartment, especially for the area. It is austere, but has the needed essentials and was clean. It has a large mini-fridge, electric stove, oven, microwave, krups pod coffeemaker with the pods, electric teapot with tea bags, sugar, creamer, etc., cutlery, pots and pans, toaster, plates, cups, etc., and glassware, including wine glasses. We stayed at 18 Hanover St for two nights. The overall size of the bathroom was also larger than the B&Bs we stayed at on this trip. Unfortunately, it still lacked shelf-space and had no vanity - no place for a toiletry case, just enough space for essentials. The shower was larger than a typical cruise ship shower or what we were finding at all the B&Bs we stayed at on this trip. There are only stairs, so beware if one travels with a lot of luggage and/or large bags (we do not). No issue with noise from other apartments, but outside noise does get in. Late at night, if you are awake or a light sleeper, you will hear all the street noise, people yelling, vehicles driving past, especially emerency vehicles, etc. It did not bother me, but it did my wife. Location: Right across from the Castle, and a lot of stores, pubs, etc., many very close. There is also a Sainsbury gorcery and another mart nearby - both on Rose St. Overall, good location, and reasonable for what it is.

Nicely renovated property in a desirable location near shopping and tourism. Quiet. The Wi-Fi wasn’t working when we checked in and the management company responded quickly. I couldn’t get the heat to work but maybe it is because of something I didn’t understand as an American. Overall a nice experience.

This is NOT a hotel. There is no concierge and ***you need to climb 47 stairs to get to the *first* apartments (in the US that’s more than 3 flights)****. The staircase is narrow and difficult to maneuver a suitcase up if you’re a solo traveler. The apartment is ok but I would never stay here again because it lacked what I wanted - some security or concierge, AC (most “hotels” would have it), and it was ridiculously inaccessible even for a healthy 30 year old. I wouldn’t recommend this spot. Stay at a proper hotel.

There is a lot to like about these apartments; they are spacious, convenient to downtown and the view of Edinburgh castly could take your breath away. The beds were also plenty comfortable. Drawbacks are... there isn't a real drop off zone in front of the apartments; we had a lot of luggage that we had to haul a long way when arriving; we'd know better the next time. There are no elevators, so it's all hauling luggage up some serious stairs, especially if you are top floor like we were. No real office and no real "amenities". But it works great for a downtown location stay and you don't need to park a car.
