Bourbon Orleans Hotel

8/10 Good

"I have stayed at the Bourbon Orleans hotel multiple times during the summer months. Generally speaking, I would rate my stays a 4.5 stars or above. This stay was not as enjoyable as others. First, for the first time we booked a poolside room which was a mistake. The room had a bunch of mosquitos and I ended up with multiple bites. It was difficult to sleep because of the constant loud/terrible music that was played for the pool area. The music was a repeating loop of awful dance music. It was the worse! I requested a room change but I had to push to get it which was problematic. They didn't respond to my initial request at all. I was told the manager would contact me shortly, but hours passed and I ended up contacting the front desk again. My husband and I were eventually assigned to a suite on the top floor. The manager appeared to suggest that we were getting a much better room at no additional charge, as if we were getting over. We'll, it wasn't a better room. It was hot. The temperature was consistently at 74 degrees which was uncomfortable when you're in New Orleans. However, I will stay there again because overall the hotel is great. Beautiful and clean rooms, great live music each night at the bar. and a good staff. I would not recommend poolside rooms, or rooms on the top floor or breakfast. They should serve real eggs and potatoes instead fake eggs and frozen potato bites. It's New Orleans, we're expecting much better food!"

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a great stay at the Royal Sonesta! The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. I got there earlier than check-in, and they were able to get me into my room early, which I really appreciated after traveling. They made the whole check-in process easy and welcoming. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd definitely stay here again!"

"This is a beautiful property that could use some standard maintenance. The bathroom is the weak point of the property. The shower/tub was in poor condition with a corroded mirror and fixtures. The handle to switch from the tub to the shower head was so corroded it could not be changed. The room smelled very musty and the front desk person did not know where my room was. He sent me to the opposite side of the hotel than where my room was. I ended up finding out from housekeeping that my room was across the street with very narrow stairs to haul my luggage up. They did slip two complementary drinks in with my key cards. However, they did not inform me of this and I found them at checkout. Now for the good. The property is beautiful with nice garden areas. The bed was comfortable and they had more hot water than I needed. The valet and housekeeping staff were very nice."

"The location was close and in walking distance to everything great welcome bags and free goodies were a great touch, only thing kinda awkward was the deluxe rooms were on the 19/20 floor and we had to take one elevator to the 18th fl and get off to take another one up to our floor , but the rooms were nice and exceptionally clean"
