"I never saw an image of the exterior of the building in the advertisement on Expedia. I never read that access to the upper floor was via a steep staircase which made carrying two suitcases to one’s room difficult. The place appears to be managed by the Wat Hotel next door but without access to the Wat’s facilities. The walls between the rooms were such that one could plainly hear conversations next door. The room was fine but the experience frankly disappointing."

"We booked a superior double room queen bed, non smoking room,this hotel is new and modern it has a lovely spacious dining room for breakfast. There is a thermal bath and sauna for tourists who want to wear their swimmers on the top floor which has great views there is also a men and women only thermal bath if you want to go naked. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk away from the train & bus station. There are plenty of restaurants within walk distance. This hotel and Takayama town was one of best places we stayed on our 6 week trip to Japan. We would definitely stay here again."
