Friendly & Economical
This basic accomodation has all the key elements ... a good shower, good bed, good WiFi, good aircon. It's not the Ritz, but excellent value - there's a shared kitchen if you want to do your own cooking. The team are friendly too ... which always helps.

Nice refuge in Gizo town
A bit of a sanctuary in otherwise rather stressed Gizo town. Beautiful gardens and very helpful staff. Room was comfortable and wifi worked well. Solomons is expensive so price a bit dear but not out of line.

Stayed twice - two different experiences
I stayed at Rekona twice - 4 days each time. I had 2 different experiences at this lodge. The first time I was upgraded to a private room with ensuite and balcony. The room was large, had coffee making facilities and the balcony was nice to relax on. My room was cleaned each day and my clothes were washed daily. The shared kitchen was clean enough - but could do with a clear out and a deep clean. The second time I stayed I was in a twin room with shared facilities. I found the owner had been away for a few days and you could tell. The kitchen bins were overflowing and there were cockroaches on the floor. The bedroom itself was fine, however, there was no bin, mirror or coffee making facilities. The shared bathroom was very dirty - the whole place smelt of urine and the floor and shower cubicle were not cleaned for 2 days. The staff are lovely and will sit and talk to you.

Thanks for your review.Our budget wing is usually booked out by local guests.When this happens we upgrade others to our upper class rooms.Our staff are undergoing regular training to improve the service to our guests.We are also upgrading the kitchen.

The breakfast is great and the staff is helpful and kind. After fishing we don't know how to deal with the fish and they cook for us!! The bed and room is also comfortable and clean. We really have a wonderful time there.
