"Great stay, upgrade on arrival to a lovely large ground floor room with patio area. Some stains on mattress topper and pillows not to my preference but didn’t affect the stay. Breakfast was ok"

"The staff were brilliant and very helpful with everything we asked for. However, whilst in the bar there was a long wait to be served and guests were having to locate the bar assistant from other parts of the hotel. It may be advantageous to instruct a staff member to be present permamntly, especially when busy. On the Saturday it was busy and the restaurant ran out of eight basic foods items' resulting in two options available. This was at 7.30pm. Please note we did very much enjoy our stay, but these things would refrain us from recommending you to our friends. Thank you for a relaxing stay."

"The room 4, which had a sea view, was small but perfectly adequate for 2 adults as was the bathroom. The continental breakfast provided in the room consisted of instant porridge, cereal bars and 2 rather sad croissants with plenty of tea, coffee and milk. The 2 people at reception were very helpful with suggestions for free parking only a couple of blocks away. The station is less than a 5 minute walk with regular trains to Edinburgh (30 minute ride). A perfect base for the Edinburgh Fringe festival!"

"Small hotel ( essentially rooms above the bar and restaurant) in a pretty East Lothian village. Easy on-street parking, straightforward check-in , decent size room. Amenities are a little basic and I was frustrated that the shower in my room had very low water flow. Nice to have a cooked breakfast available every day. I didn't eat in the evening but the dinner menu looked tempting and good value."
