"The Grassington Lodge is truly minimalist. A very small room, two bath towels, and one hand towel. For the third of three nights they added a bath mat and a bar of soap. The only staff ever present was the cleaning lady and her assistant. She was kind and helpful but certainly not enough to welcome and assist guests. "

"We especially liked the staff we met. The room was clean, bed comfortable. The only thing we were really upset about was that my Sister who’s 75 years old came to visit us for a couple of hours, and a few days later got a £100 parking fine. To me it’s ridiculous that a virtually half empty car park can fine someone for staying a couple of hours. There was a notice on the front desk that said guests had to put in their registration number, surely not for someone visiting family. And that 2 hours was spent in reception talking to the staff. And they knew she was just visiting and no one mentioned that she had to put her reg number in. Still doesn’t alter how we felt about the staff. They were very friendly. Especially the ones on Reception. "

"Nice location in Harrogate and good sized room and bathroom. Could do with new windows and extractor fan in the bathroom. Drinks and meal a bit on the expensive side. + Carpark on site also a bit pricey but a least you're not having to worry about street parking. Overall a good 6 day break."

"Great location and staff are helpful and friendly. Room facilities were good. Comfy bed. Lovely cocktails from the bar. Good tea tray with quality products. Parking is very convenient right outside and reasonably priced. The bathroom really needs a shower enclosure as the bath was tricky to step into and the rubber mat is straight from the 70s! The decor was looking a little worn and tired. "
