"This hotel was next level. From the amazing, friendly staff to the Hilton level amenities and standards.
We were greeted in fluent English by super friendly staff to what seemed like a very empty resort. We believe it only seemed empty due to renovations to the second tower. We booked a private onsen for your family at the front desk and went to our beautiful room. The buffet dinner was fantastic and to follow the breakfast buffet was equally amazing. Best hotel we have stayed at so far on our...

"Fantastic place to stay in Takayama. Great location and the hotel staff go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The hotel is in great shape as well and the onsen on the top floor with an outside option was nice."

"Good location, excellent value breakfast. Whilst parking is first come first served there was lots reserved. As with most modern hotels the lifts are a bottleneck and no clearly signposted stairs as an alternative."

The staff at this Ryokan are excellent in terms of their service, friendliness and professionalism. The excellent service began right after we booked, then continued in-person when we were picked up at Takayama Station on arrival and sadly ended when we were dropped off at the car rental when leaving Takayama.
In between, the hospitality has been top notch and the dinner and breakfast were of very high quality. Our room also had the motorised bed and the corner view overlooking the river was a...

Hotel staffs are really friendly and helpful when we ask for some direction for our sightseeing even with their limit english.
They are able to arrange additional shuttle service on top of their schedule. It's a hotel for the family to spend time together but don't expect too much for this small little town hotel.
For thise onsen lovers, I will say they have very good view overseeing the whole Gero town. I will recommend you to go for a bath in the afternoon instead due to morning sun...

The whole stay was flawless and staff are really very consciously looking after your needs.
The in room bath pool overlooking a small garden was cool. The dining experience was most excellent.
Lastly we left a jacket in the wardrobe and realized that at the train station with minutes to board!; as my daughter was on the phone to hotel; the driver had retrieved the jacket and showed up at the station to return the jacket.
This will never happen anywhere else - really appreciated the service...

stayed for one night. staff were helpful and prompt in their service, carried our bags to our rooms and showed us the rooms. breakfast had a choice of japanese or continental, which was good. there is a shuttle bus to takayama station in the mornings which was convenient.

Chisun Grand is just 3 mins’ walk from Takayama station. This is my second time staying at the same exact hotel in Nagoya as I liked it for its location.
Hotel room is clean, big by Japanese standards ( I had a twin share). The bath room is also larger than average hotel bath room size.
Hotel is near Miyagawa morning market ( 5 mins’ walk) along the river. Enjoy the cool breeze against rushing waters in the river, where you can find carps, fishes, ducks and birds .

Fantastic room with fantastic service. Buffet-style breakfast can be purchased in the morning for 1200 yen from the front desk. It is well worth the money with a good assortment of food. Just a short walk from both the JR Gifu and Meitetsu Gifu stations.

About 5 minutes walk to the train station and bus terminal. Logistically convenient to move around Takayama by foot. Room is impeccably clean, staff polite. Efficient check-in and check-out process. Use of onsen in the hotel is complimemtary but need to pay onsen tax of ¥150 per person regardless of whether you make use of this facility. The only complaint is their pillows - just don't expect the usual soft and fluffy kind.
