"Overall, everything was good and the hotel was nice. The only issue I had was that when I booked, I saw that afternoon tea was included for free, but when we got there, they told us it wasn’t. I didn’t like that, and it didn’t give me a good feeling. Even though they upgraded our room for an extra $50, I still think they should have honored the afternoon tea offer, since it was part of a promotion I saw on Expedia. It didn’t feel right to be made to feel like I was mistaken—because I wasn’t."

"Excellent hotel. We had a marine view with a balcony. We sat on the balcony and watched the seaplanes land and take off. Restaurant was excellent. Also has a delicious Italian restaurant across the street. A short block to Fisherman’s wharf with gift shops and restaurants. Very enjoyable experience. Good location. Lots of walking trails. I would recommend! "

"It was my first time visiting Victoria, and I stayed one night at the Strathcona Hotel. Although I arrived much earlier than expected, they kindly offered me a room upgrade and early check-in at a very reasonable price. The hotel’s location was excellent — within walking distance to the Parliament Buildings, major tourist attractions, restaurants, and cafes. Elvie and Ario, in particular, provided cheerful and friendly service."

"The front desk gentlemen, David, was very very helpful and accommodating. My son and I got in late from the ferries on motorbikes and he kindly processed us through, provided all the necessary info and went above and beyond to provide a complimentary room step up. A beautiful view of the harbour. The hotel is clean, comfortable and very spacious. I’ll be staying here again. Thank you very much David!!!"
