"Awesome hotel! The whole hotel is so beautiful, and all of the staff was so friendly and helpful. We loved that there were restaurants and the onsen and spa on site so we were able to relax without even leaving the property if we wanted. Everything was clean and well maintained and all of the restaurants were delicious! I would definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance."

"Hakone Gora Karaku was absolutely incredible! One of our favourite stays in Japan. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were exceptional, the service was so nice, the room was stunning, and the onsen baths were such a relaxing treat.
The staff were incredibly kind and hospitable, making the whole experience feel extra special for our family. The location is perfect, right near the train station and the Hakone loop, making everything so easy.
A truly unforgettable stay we loved every moment."
"Apart from the check-in process, everything was perfect. This is a self check-in, although I had issues, there is a contact number and they were super helpful. "
"This is our third trip to this hotel. What I noticed was it was more crowded. Instead of an easy access to go to breakfast or dinner , there is a QR code to make breakfast and dinner reservations. It was difficult for me since the QR code was not in English and ai had problems using this format. We didn't try the onsen , but decided on getting a room with an outdoor hot tub. Also when we were leaving, I sent the luggage by QR code only with the help of the reception staff. It should make things easier, but I beg to differ. This hotel has become a little too popular, more people than I would like. The food at the buffet remains the same. Nothing spectacular. "
"Family-friendly property but definitely a bit dated. The elevators had a funky smell. The living space was huge and the in-room bottomless beer amenity was pretty cool. Overall, it wasn’t bad for a short weekend trip to Hakone. "
"The room was VERY spacious and clean. We appreciated the lobby area and while we didn't get the breakfast option, there was a vending machine in the lobby that required us to download an app to use. Unfortunately with us being from USA, to text us to confirm that we wanted to load the app didn't work correctly and we didn't receive the text. What we should have done was purchase food, snacks, drinks from Odawarai station. We did a day trip to Owakudani and on the way back via train, we got off on the next stop because there was a Lawson's across the street from the train station. We loaded up on food, snacks, and drinks and jumped on the next (every 15 minutes) train to Kawakidani. Rakuten Stay Terrace also had a gas grill on the balcony and we should have grilled a few items. Next time! "
"This Ryokan was outstanding. It was peaceful and stylish while also feeling authentic and very Japanese. We loved the private hot spring bath on our balcony and really enjoyed dressing in kimonos for dinner. I highly recommend this Ryokan "
