"Not worth it. Way over priced! We stayed one night. Staff are very nice. But the place is of a by gone era. It’s old but not in a charming way. Showers in the onsen are cold and you have to wait for many minutes in order for hot water to come out. The rooms and elevators are old. the outdoor hotspring is on the top floor with no facilities (you have to go downstairs first and shower) and no real view to speak of. The location is on the main drag which is nice. But it should be 1/2 the...

"I had a wonderful time at Kamesei Ryokan. The atmosphere was peaceful, and I was able to truly relax in the onsen. A great place to unwind and enjoy authentic Japanese hospitality."

"Great location, just a short walk from Nagano Station and easy to find. It's on the same road that leads to Zenkoji Temple. For a two-night stay this met my expectations. Facilities were clean and tidy. I also had the chance to dine in at their Mash Cafe - it was a nice, cozy ambiance and the food and drinks were delicious. Staff both at check-in counter and cafe were very friendly. "

"The owners made us feel very welcomed. We enjoyed their homemade traditional Japanese breakfasts, his and her onsen bath, and the care they took to make us feel comfortable. We cannot recommend this highly enough!"
"The hot spa for women only and men only was the highlight of the day. Reception staff were wonderful and the room was very clean.
Location very close to train station a plus. Very easy to find bus to visit snow monkeys."
"We took a junior suite as that was the only room with two beds available. It was big, had two double beds, and a sofa, plus a massage chair - much welcomed after a day's walking. Decor was dated but well maintained and functional. Only oddity was that there was no safety box in the room. Room was clean, staff - both front deskers and housekeeping were efficient and friendly. Ah yes, we could have additional pillows, and the choice between simmons and tempur. it was nice to sleep with four pillows for each of us. Don't know about breakfast as we didn't book that. "
