"Staying at Kawaguchi was a wonderful experience. The innkeeper lady was very helpful in explaining everything and pointing us to good restaurants and giving general directions around the town. The room was surprisingly large with additional space for two in the loft. Tea and cookies provided in the room. Kimonos to wear around were a nice touch. We enjoyed the ofuro (onsen bath)."

"Great hotel; the shower is too small and awkward for people above 5’ 7”; kind of dangerous. Also, why a slanted step up going into room? Not necessary and also dangerous. "

"Best part is you are steps from the shrine. Dinner was in a private room. Hotel is on top of a creek with waterfall. Onsen was perfect. It was the crown jewel of our vacation. "

"A little challenging to get to but once you’re there you understand why. Really beautiful location. Tough to get food at night because most of the restaurants cater only to the daytime tourists which was tough and the ferry only runs so late so you can’t get dinner late and head back. Would suggest two nights at most and hotel should be a bit more proactive about suggesting offsite food options. Staff was nice when we got there and accommodating. Loved the daytime adventures. "Beautiful view of the water and fishing boats. Incredibly peaceful and great experience of Japanese ryokan. The dinner and breakfast were also very nice."

"Great place to stay to experience traditional Japanese cuisine and explore Miyajima island. Location is with in Walking distance to popular shrine, hiking trails and tori gate. Excellent hostess and friendly staff during check in and check out. Thank you for lovely hospitality "
