I liked where the hotel was situated, beautiful Battery Point. Room was clean and tidy. Had a meal in the restaurant there, was enjoyable. Would stay here again.

The Prince of Wales Hotel was perfect for our needs. It is located in the heart of some amazing eateries, gift shops, Post Office and a short walk to the famous Salamanca Market (trading on Saturdays). The staff are friendly and helpful. It is well priced for it's central location.

Lovely location, really good views from our room. Our room was dirty. Severely cracked toilet bowl, which was dirty, wouldn’t have passed basic health standards. Someone else’s hair in bath tub. Thick dust along bed headboard. Washing in bags piled outside of our bedroom door. Dirty carpets but the sheets were clean, I checked them out thoroughly.

Property is tired and the room was dirty, no excuse for being dirty, access requires passing the hotels toilets which are literally on the nose. Cheap, great location, parking great and staff helpful.

Best location in gorgeous suburb of Battery Point. Walking distance to Salamanca and Hobart CBD. Great place to stay if you aren’t going to spend a lot of time in your hotel/room. Staff were very friendly.

The propery was central to our needs and provided free parking. The counter meal we had there one evening was also very nice and the service was quick. Attention to cleaning and repair of broken lights would make this review more positive. Overall I would consider staying here again.

Excellent location across from a fantastic cafe and 3 min walk to Salamanca and onto piers. Easy walk into CBD. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room and bathroom were very small and rundown. Comfortable bed. Secure room and surprisingly quiet for a hotel.

Great location in the middle of Battery Point
While the location of this hotel is excellent, close to shops, restaurants, Salamanca markets, the accommodation falls very short of expectations. The shower was terrible, heating was via two small box fan heaters but not enough power points to use them both and they were noisy to use. Sheets were clean on the beds but the rest of the room had a grotty feel to it. The single bed lacked any support and dipped in the middle. Overall, the accommodation needs a major refurbishment.

The bare minimum I would expect would be running hot water. I wouldn't even call it a trickle coming out the shower. Dated but functional rooms. It was cheap and did what it needed but boy I needed a shower that wasn't cold water.
