It was amazing. The breakfasts were the best that we had our entire trip. I also loved the bakery. And the views of the volcano were heavenly. The help was also great! And the hotel itself was befitting of the views.

I booked, looking for a place to staycafter getting off the ferryvfrom Okinawa. When I arrived I realized this wasnt just a place to sleep. It's the city's "grand hotel". Set in gorgeous grounds, with more trails nearby in the mountain forest, it offers a large breakfast buffet and a huge onsen with indoor and outdoor pools - all of them with spectacular views over the city and volcano.

This was our first stop for a three week trip to Japan. Couldn't have chosen a better place to get acquainted and get past the jet lag. Excellent service, very comfortable rooms, beautiful views and wonderful onsen. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. The hotel has many restaurants. We ate at one. Overpriced and just all right. There are so many excellent places to eat in Kagoshima. The hotel is on a cliff above the city. Using the free shuttle service was easy and efficient, though you do spend a good deal of time traveling to and from the heart of the city if you do go in twice a day. But totally worth it. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Kagoshima.

Great hotel that’s very well known for the onsen and views of Sakurajima (what more can you ask for!). It will be hard to find a hotel location with a better view! The room was nice for the most part. Bathroom was a bit dated and unfortunately had an old tank water smell that some of the hotels in Japan have. Restaurants in the hotel are great although a bit on the pricier side. We ended up getting a gorgeous view of the garden for our dinner there. Family Mart on the 1st floor makes this hotel a catch all for convenience.

Despite high hopes this hotel was perhaps the most disappointing of any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Staff were incredibly unhelpful, we were told that we could not eat in the hotel as they’d fully booked every restaurant for functions, we then wanted to go for a drink one evening and was told the bars were shut that day for no reason given, you also had to queue for about 20 minutes to get breakfast which, whilst there were many options, was poor quality. The one positive was the onsen being pleasant with a lovely view of the volcano. However, that does not make up for the poor hotel standard. Avoid staying here.
