The apartment is nice with sufficient space for the family. The challenge is the location which is rather off the grid from the town and a very winding road leading to the club. Location wise is quite a challenge. Staff hardly speak any English but they are very nice people.

Great hotel in a great location. Nice gym and nice onsen

Fantastic

Mampei Hotel was wonderful. Much better than I expected considering the price and age of the hotel. The location is good. Walk-able in 10 minutes from the old Ginza shopping street (the walk itself was a nice and pleasant stroll). The hotel was easy to find and surrounded by beautiful lush greenery and gardens. The staff were warm and friendly. The guy at reception spoke English. The hotel looks great, very classic but well maintained. Clean, warm and comfortable. Our twin room was...

Small but cozy ryokan with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed our 2 nights there very much

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is very nicely decorated & cozy. An excellent location (in the woods feel), though we did lost our way. Looking for it. But it was all worth it. A great property for staycation!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect, with Old Karuizawa Ginza Street right outside the hotel, making it super convenient to explore. Breakfast selection was a bit limited, but everything was fresh and well prepared — especially the soups, which we enjoyed every morning. Only small downside was the pillows, which were too flat for...

Very thoughtful and helpful staff, always offering us heat packs/ umbrella when we leave in the morning. Onsen is small but has both indoor and outdoor areas, good vanity supplies and hair dryer. Location is excellent if you drive and want to be based near the Hoshino resort area. Plenty of things to explore within 20min drive from hotel.
