"The staff were usually nice, especially when checking in. The hotel room did not feel very clean. Housekeeping was not very good, I think they spent a minute cleaning the room.
The water pressure was pretty poor in general, but on one night it was completely cold and unusable (which is unfortunate in the middle of a shower).
The “king” mattress (two singles together) was very uncomfortable, did not sleep well on any night. The bedding was also too small for the bed, which didn’t help.
The top floor king room bathroom was atrociously designed using a glass wall, making it annoying to use and completely lacks privacy for the toilet."
"Was really excited about this stay and it was the most disappointing hotel we experienced after a month in NZ. The photos were deceptive. The rooms are small and basic, very basic amenities in room, the shower floods, the bed and pillows not comfortable. Forget about the restaurant for dinner unless you book well in advance- they take a deposit and if you're not in the 48 hour cancellation window you lose your deposit. Staff seemed inexperienced and not as helpful as they could have been. Construction next door changed the setting with noise and view. The breakfast was good. We took Ubers and taxis back and forth because if the distance from town. Overall I'd say don't be fooled by the photos because it's a basic hotel for the price. "
"Hotel was surprisingly nice. We had a studio apartment with a washer and dryer. That came in handy for our extended trip. Location was very convenient to the city and all the activities and dining. The only opportunity for improvement is that the mounted soap dispenser was adjacent to the electrical outlet. I could not use the plug along with my adaptor. Considering Queenstown is a tourist town and many people use adapters, they really need to reposition their soap dispenser by an inch or so. "
"I moved from another apartment hotel in Queenstown and this apartment at Highview was far nicer for a much better value. The staff was very friendly and the view was amazing!"
"No help with our luggage. Travelled with my 88 and 83 year old parents. And it is NOT for them. And not for me too. aside from walking up we had to walk further up for the rooms. I expected more."
