Note that it is a hostel remodeled from single apartments scattered in different buildings. The residents in the building are diverse, seems most are from South Asia. Safety is a big concern.

This is a very are scare plThe very scary place to stay. I have a very bad feeling. The manager, whose name is Malak or Malik, seem belonged to a terrorist organization, (He is not Chinese, he is from South Asia, most probably from Bangladesh or Pakistan. When he saw U.S. passport, he said I hate American. I booked the hotel via hotel.com I was in transit in Hong Kong for 10 hours and when I arrived there, “the manager said to me, I will not give any room, you go and find the room somewhere else. When I got upset he said, he resold the room to a different customer”he used lots of F… words. At that time it was 10:45 PM and Hotel.com booking documents say, you can check in until 4:00 AM. I am now trying to contact Hong Kong Police about this place.ace

we were transfered to room8,9th flr instead my reservation since it was full. the location was nice, close to mtr and find it easy to go to places we want. however going up & down took quite some time because the elevator is always full. the location is also near food stalls even downstairs so no one will get hungry😄 the room is really small and will fit asian travellers😄 but it was cute and very comfy!

Affordable hostel in good location
Chose this hostel mainly due to its price and location. Harrassed by people trying to recommend hotel rooms to us when we were trying to find the correct block and correct lift. Turns out there are Blocks A to E. every block has one lift stopping on even floors and one lift stopping on odd floors. Room was comfortable but toilet was small. Clean and hygienic overall though.

Tiny shoebox in dodgy building but oh so cheap
Lying on the floor stretch your arms out to the sides. Your hands, feet and head are touching all 4 walls. That is the size of the room. There is always a huge line for the lifts Dodgy hawkers in the lobby selling fake watches and SIM cards. Lobby is more of an alley full of vendors than a lobby. No windows. But for $360HKD a night can't really complain, stayed for a week no problems just don't expect much, great location too across the road from TST station, 30mins walk to Mong Kok or 5mins to the ferry terminal, plus the FX money exchangers in the building give the best rates I've seen

Misleading
The room itself was clean and tidy, however the room was unbelievably small, there wasnt room for 2 people to be able to move around at once. Beware the photos advertised for the rooms are wildly inaccurate. It is more like a pod than a room. Downstairs you need to walk through a flea market and wait a long time in crowded lifts to get up to the room.

Super Tiny Room In A Heavy Traffic Building
It was very difficult to find that exact location of the hotel. This area is super busy with Mideastern and Indian expats that will bombard you with getting a room or a taxi. After finally finding the hotel (which is on Section C all the way back of the building 8th or 10th floor), the room is super tiny and the shower is in the same room as the toilet. This room is only suitable for one person only with a little amount luggage. Our room smelled like Mideastern food everyday from the main lobby. Very uncomfortable during our stay, but we manage to bare with it. Probably the worst hotel I stayed at. It was more like a hostel. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Very rude owner!! Wouldn't bother with this place.
Good for backpackers needing somewhere to crash for a night. Very clean. My experience here WAS NOT A GOOD ONE. I checked in a day late due to my flight being cancelled. I messaged the guest house and informed them of the issues with my flight. On arrival I realised they had obviously given my room away even though I had paid in full for the room for 4 nights. The owner finally took me to a room which was a single and not what I paid for. I booked a double. He then went on to be extremely rude to me shouting at me, lying about my booking and changing is story every 2 minutes. In the end he began to demand more money from me. Luckily one of his employees sorted everything out for me the following day. I wouldn't bother staying here. Small, inconvenient and rude owner.

Good location, clean but has issues
It's not really a hotel, it's a bunch of small guesthouses scattered around a massive building made up of half a dozen blocks of 16 floors each. The room itself is very small, (double bed spans the width of the room) and the shower and toilet combined are the size of a regular toilet cubicle. The place itself is clean and the staff is helpful when they're around, but it takes 10 minutes at best to get to the reception desk as they are in another block. Location is great, in the middle of the city and the prices we got were cheap, but you do get what you pay for that's for sure. The entrance to the big building complex is littered with people offering to sell you fake watches, handbags, rooms in the hotels or drugs (same people, different time of day). Once you're past the entrance the market sellers want to sell you stuff and can be annoying. Then the lifts are very old and busy, so you might have to wait up to 15 mins to get the lift. Generally speaking, it's a good bargain in a good location but they obviously don't mention all the bad stuff on the brochures, so be aware of what to expect as the pictures are not at all descriptive of what you will actually get.

The room very small. I booked a double room, but the size of the bed was so small that it is comparable to a single bed. We weren't provided with towels on the last day of our stay. The environment downstairs of the guesthouse did not give us a comfortable feeling and it was chaotic. There was a long queue to use the lift up to the guesthouse. Location wise, its very strategic and close to the MTR, its also near Victoria Harbour.

Scam
Comfort Guest House is in a building with 100s of other "hotels" whose landlords stand outside on and try to coerce shoppers to come in. It is very clear these hotels are used primarily for prostitution and not sleeping. There is no check in counter. So you will have to track down the landlord who will be out selling rooms on the street. I was unable to find this guy, so I had to rent another room! As far as the rooms, the pictures are Internet stock pictures. These are not the rooms you get. You get a 5x7 room with two small beds crammed in and a toilet with no toilet paper. These rooms are so cheap for a reason.

The rooms are tiny but if you read the description you'll know what you signed up for. Then again, the rooms of even larger brand hotels ate equally small. The hotel is right in the center and super close to the metro and ferry, a great place to start you HK excursions. The hawkers right in front of the hotel are annoying, so just ignore them!

WHEN WE BOOKED THE PHOTO OF THE ROOM SHOWN AND WHEN ACTUALLY WHEN WENT FOR CHECK IN,THE STAFFS BEHAVIOR WAS VERY RUDE, ON MY REQUEST TO GIVE BETTER ROOM , HIS REPLY WAS TO GO TO HOTEL HOLIDAY INN, I EXPLAINED HIM IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SLEEP ON SUCH BED, I WAS ASKED TO LEAVE. NOT ONLY THAT THERE IS NO ATTENDANT IN THE PLACE. ON 28 TH NIGHT WHEN I RETURNED AT 10.30 PM, I FOUND THE AC NOT COOLING, SO I CAME OUT OF ROOM TO SEEK ASSISTANCE, BUT NO ONE WAS THERE, WHEN I CAME BACK TO THE ROOM, TO MY WORST EXPERIENCE, ROOM WAS NOT OPENING,SUDDENLY THE DOOR LOCK NOT FUNCTIONING AND IT WAS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AS NO BODY OF GUEST HOUSE AROUND.I THEN WENT TO THE E-BLOCK WHERE THE RECEPTION WAS THERE BUT FOUND THE GATE LOCKED AND NO BODY OPENED AFTER TRYING WITH THE BELL AND KNOCKING THE DOOR.LASTLY I CAME BACK TO THE FLAT AND WAS IN A STAGE THAT HOW DO I PASS THE WHOLE NIGHT AFTER STANDING IN THE VERY THIN CORRIDOR FOR NEARLY MORE THAN AN HOUR.PERHAPS THE RECEPTION FELLOW MIGHT HAVE SEEN ON THE CCTV AND PHONED AT AROUND 12.30 AM .WHEN I EXPLAINED HIM HE TOLD ME THAT HE WILL SEND SOMEBODY WITHIN 5 MINUTES BUT AN ATTENDANT LADY CAME AFTER NEARLY 45 MINUTES WITH A KEY OF THE DOOR LOCK AND OPENED THE ROOM AND SHE ALSO RECTIFIED THE PROBLEM WITH THE AC OF MY ROOM-22 OF BLOCK-E

Acceptable affordable option for exploring HK.
This place really came through for me after the Cue Hotel in HK Central cancelled my booking. I had never heard of Chung King Mansions in Kowloon but I'm glad I came across them. Because, lol, you haven't really experienced Hong Kong until you've stayed here. There must be 200 guesthouses in this set of blocks. And thank you Hotels.com for making the choice somewhat easy. I'm glad I had a booking already so I didn't have to deal with the touts outside. To prepare for Comfort Guesthouse (also Joyous guesthouse?) accept that fact that in Hong Kong to get a big private room might cost over $90 a night. For $45 a night here, you can get a single room that's almost the same size as a Cathay Pacific first class seat. The toilet is in the shower. The window looks at a wall 2 feet away and it's really hard to tell if it's day or night. But at least it's your private tiny space and the bed/comforter is surprisingly comfortable. The MTR stop is also extremely close. I wish I could have stayed another night to explore HK more. I can't rate the place 5 stars thought because Chung King Mansions has some major issues. The Lifts can take forever to get to you, and the stairs look like they haven't been clean in 20 years, even with red stains on the walls. What the stains are I really don't want to know.

Tiny room, but very clean and comfortable
This is a tiny room, so if your bringing a suitcase I'd strongly advise you don't stay here as you won't have anywhere to put it. However as my husband and I only had a small backpack it was fine, and we actually loved the novelty of such a small room... True Hong Kong experience! Very clean and comfortable room and well equipped considering the size.

This is not a hotel, but a bedsitter with a toilet
I will never ever set my foot on this bedsitter! This is not a hotel. I am not sure why it got itself in the hotels.com, this is a bedsitter with a tiny cubicle which has a toilet and a tiny washing basin. It is very much like a jail cell. But jails are spacious! I had no place to place my suitcase. It is definitely not a 2 * establishment ,neither is it 1* establishment. It is simply a bedsitter

Great for solo travellers
Great value for money, but only if you're a certain type of traveller. The building it's located in is old and infamous for being a one-time drug haven. Lifts are tiny and slow - definitely not worth the hassle if you've got more than one suitcase. Rooms are actually subdivided from a single flat unit, so you can imagine how small they are. All that said, great if you are a fuss free traveller. Clean, cheap and expect to get what you pay for in this price range

Great price, location and staff
Stayed here for 4 nights in December, although there was no one there to meet me to check me in, but Jacky turned up very soon. I had a room on the 6th floor in block C. This block seems best as there is less using the lift. The room was small but was so clean and the house maid Marissa was amazing. The bed was so comfortable and everything in the room that I needed, numerous charging points. The shower was lovely and hot. If you require anything, just ask Marissa, she's the best The location was super, right near Tsim Sha Sui. Getting there is easy, take the A21 bus from the airport to stop 14 and walk 50 meters to Chungking mansions, stop 5 when returning to the airport. Thanks all for a great stay.

A gem of a guest house
This is a gem of a guesthouse with an unbeatable location in Kowloon. Right in the middle of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, within walking distance of the star ferry terminal and other attractions. Excellent bus and subway access. Rooms are exceptionally clean, quiet and comfortable and although typically for Hong Kong small, the rooms have everything you could wish for. I was able to sleep perfectly here. Wifi is also very good. The staff are very friendly and accommodating
