Reception staff was cold. We landed early hence arrived at the hotel early. Most of HK doesn't open till 11am-noon.We asked if it was possible for an early checkin. We were told to come back at 2pm. We went out and had breakfast but that doesn't take 6 hours. We decided to find a convenience store to pick up sustenance.Since our elderly mother was pretty jet lagged after a long haul flight, she said she would wait at the hotel. By herself, after a long haul flight, in a cold and quiet foyer, not surprising she dozed off waiting. When we got back, we found out hotel staff told my mother they have been monitoring her and she cannot stay there. IS THAT HOW YOU TREAT YOUR GUESTS? I am sure the hotel was not full given the riots in HK and we were easily able to make bookings prior to boarding the plane, why not be flexible and allow us access to just one room (we booked 2) just so a 70 year old can rest? It won't cost you anymore and your guests will be grateful. On checkout 2 days later just before 6am, I noticed a white Australian family checking in - they were obviously given favourable treatment.
