Really surprised that you didnt felt happy to stay in our place. Check in around 1-2am, room arranged without any delay and automatically upgraded your room to our double room.

Well, it’s what you expect for that amount of money, but I didn’t expect the cockroaches and I didn’t expect the fuses blowing on if you use too many of the appliance, like if you had your hot water and the Aircon on the fuse would go. But if you pay peanuts, you get what you pay for.

WORST PLACE EVER
CHECK IN - the worst of any place. I arrive the day of check in and they took my name and had me sign in - I was to spend the day with my Aunt and decided to sleep over at her place (she lives in HK) that night The next day I arrive at 2pm to get the key to the room I was assigned and found out they gave my room away (because I did not stay that night) I was left outside with a squeaky intercom that you cannot understand Guys try standing in front of this intercom and see if you can even make out what you are saying I stood there with a bursting bladder and FINALLY they buzzed me in After speaking to the front desk person they gave me a room in another building Hotel Skycity (it's a chain that starts with 'Hotel') and later told me that I was staying there for now until they can find another spot for me tomorrow Whaaaaat???? It is obvious they are overbooking their rooms like crazy and leave guests in the lurch Absolutely horrible practice ROOM - approx 8X8 sq ft including the bathroom in the corner It is clean with safe and AC The bathroom/toilet/shower room is one spot on the corner of the room There's a small TV (don't care) LOCATION - very convenient to shopping metro and food This is the only plus and that's why one star (then again you can't really do zero stars)

This is the best that you can get for a budget-type hotel in a central location like Tsim Sha Tsui in HK!

The hotel is conveniently located in Kowloon. The room is small, the private bathroom tiny. The shower head is actually mounted on the wall over the toilet. The interactions I had with the staff was pleasant. This hotel is in one of the "mansions" which means it's a multi use building. The elevators are small and you frequently had to queue up and wait for a turn to your floor (12th in the case of Venus). My biggest aggravation had nothing to do with the hotel, it was the incessant offers for suits and fake Rolex watches, as well as occasionally hashish. You get tired of constantly having to shoo away these determined Indian chaps trying to hustle you.

Cheap price for a the night
Only paid $72 for the night for 4 people so it was a cheap room for the night. I wouldn’t want to stay more than one night, not a nice place for a family but good it you want a cheap room. It was very clean and neat, probably better than l expected. Clean towels were brought to the room, fresh fro:the dryer. Very quiet at night. We were supposed to be staying in another hotel but we were then brought to this hotel in the same complex, just a different block. Seems to be a few hotels owned by the same people so you may not be staying in the same hotel name that you initially booked. But it seems they are all the same. Worth the money in an expensive city.

Better than expected
Booked hotel for daughter an family but after reading reviews we stayed instead. The Hotel/hostel is located centrally on busy road across from train station. Ground floor is hive of activity with loads of stalls changing money, mobile phones food stalls and tailors. We were approached everyday by different people in and outside of the hotel entrance offering various item like tailoring but they left us alone when we politely declined. It's no different to walking around Turkey or Egypt. We booked a family room (thankfully) and were pleasantly surprised. The room was very basic but spotlessly clean. There was enough room for the two of us but it would be a squeeze for 4. Theres room under beds for cases an a few hangers on wall hooks to hang clothes so you'll need to live out of cases. The shower is with the toilet and boiler but this is normal practice in HK. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. Residents also live in the same block only some of the floors are used as hotel rooms. The back stairs and corridors are grubby but the small hotel corridors are clean and well cared for. The downside was the waiting around for lifts. Only two lifts each block one side odd and other even numbers but never waited more than a few minutes and it's monitored by cameras and security staff manage the queue so no one pushed in. I don't know if we were lucky But no real complaints - got what we paid for - after all we only slept and showered there as were out all day.

City Centre
The location of the hotel is really nice, it is located at the centre of the city. There are many restaurants and shops nearby. There are also many tourist attractions there too. The rooms are nice and cozy as well, with individual bathrooms attached to it.

Clean room and convinient location
It was good for me as I went sightseeking & shopping all day and just needed a clean space to sleep. The hotel is well situated with MRT/subway station nearby with WiFi access. Basic amenities, daily housekeeping and clean bath towel were provided. The duty officer was nice and they even let me leave my luggages even after check out.

Worst experience
We arrived in the evening of March 4, 2017. First of all, the building itself is jampacked. The elevators,which can fit about 5 or 6 people without luggage are so tiny. We had to wait another 15 minutes before we can go up to the Hostel. Coming from an 18-hr flight, we were surprised when the guy told us that our room was gonna be in another block. This meant that we had to go back down and wait again another 15 mins before we can go to another block on the 16th floor. You see,this is where the trickery happened. We booked our room at Venus last year. The photos were pretty decent and the reviews back then were good that is why we decided to try it. However,we did not get transferred to another room in another block. It was a completely different hostel! It was so small,my fiancé had to either go out of the room or be on the bed when I had to do something. There was a certain smell too that comes our from the airconditioning. There are no windows that a claustrophobic would go in panic attack. The experience was so terrible that we had to leave after the second night. To the Hotel Venus owner, you doing bad business will make your business actually o down. To the readers,if you read Chunking mansions in the address of the hostel, don't ever go for it! It's a trap!

Dreadful hotel you have to walk through a precinct
Didn't have a room for us took us to another guest house When door opened one person had to stand in toilet\shower room to let other person in or stand on bed to let in shower was broken so couldn't use air vent made so much noise and blew out cold air only thing to work properly was tv no shower gifts and no bath towel to shiwer

Our stay at Hotel Venus was interesting to say the least. The good things about it were that our room was clean and the location was very good. The hot water was on demand and there was lots of it. It had air conditioning and a phone. The not so good things were .... it took over ½ an hour to check us in. To get to our room you had to go through a long corridor to get to the elevator that was full of filthy vendor stalls. The elevator itself would only accommodate about 5 people without any consideration of personal space and painfully slow. There were always lineups for the elevator. Our room was laughable. It was about 60 square feet. If one of us wanted to move, the other had to sit on the bed. We could not open our luggage and access it readily. The picture is deceiving and this is NOT a hotel. Call it what it what it is.... a hostel.

friendly staff , great location, feel safe
staff are friendly, with elevator so pushing my luggage is much easier, if the bedding is clean with freeze scene and towel is not with holes that will be even better. will seriously consider to come again.

BE CAREFUL!
Disappointed! I booked Hotel Venus but hotel staff referred me to Hotel Skylark (claimed that from the same group). Initially, the hotel staff gave me hotel room far low standard than what we can see from the pic here) and I refused to check in as that is NOT the hotel that I've paid for. The hotel staff insisted that no room available in Hotel Venus and no refunds. Then, the lady referred to another hotel (Hotel Skylark) and the room is way tooooo small, old furniture and funny curry smell. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MAKE BOOKING!!!!

Although overwhelmed with touting at Chungking Mansion it is a convenient place to sleep albeit small. It has helpful staff and secured with camera @ walkway. iPad left behind after checking out was found and retrieved for picking up.

The rooms is superb clean , strong wifi , excellent location easy to access everywhere, what need can b found inside the room like hair dryer , slipper, refrigerator, Safty box etc, Joni is helpful staff , I like and loved everything in Venus Definitely will come back in future and highly recommended to every body who visit to Hong Kong

The location is the heart of the area, lots of shopping malls and so many different kind of restaurants, and just few mint walking to shopping and restaurants and also near by sea and star ferry and most important very near to metro station and easily can go every where, and airport bust stop EE 21 to airport so I going to give 5/5

However, the hotel was what it says it was with regard to its dimension as stated and shown in the picture, can't move around.. but if you're there just to sleep, its good enough.. chungking mansions may not have a good reputation but we had had a nice stay even with the long queue in the elevator

Good for the seasoned traveller....
The "hotel" is located in a gallery. It has 3 separate blocks - this hotel is located at the C block, 12th floor. I arrived at 10PM. It took 40 MINUTES to be able to get the elevator to get up there (long queue, only 5 people go up per ride)! There is NO stairway that goes from the ground floor up. After I finally got there, I was moved to another "hotel" that had a vacant room, this time in Block B.Once in the room (after 1 hour), it was finally ok. Room is very small, but clean. This is NOT for the faint of heart, really. Only book if you're a seasoned traveller and not scared by different situations.

Free welcome drink when arrival, accommodating & helpful staff, their boss is very funny and interesting, guided me how to enjoy the sightseeing in HK. The location is excellent, easy to access to everywhere like Star Ferry, many famous shopping mall like iSquare, K11, Ocean Ternminal, Harbour City, etc. Room is very clean but everything can be found like hair dryer, slipper, fringe, safety box, etc. No doubt to recommend Hotel Venus to everybody

Hotel Venus is the best
I had comfortable and relax experience in Hotel Venus. When I reach there, I liked the environment and decorations, which given me felt fresh and relax. Helpful and friendly staff, strong wifi, room small but clean, more than I expected. Basic necessarily can be found like slipper, fringe, safe, hairdryer, tooth paste & brush, etc. What need can be found, price reasonable, I made a super choice in Hotel Venus.

Excellent Venus is the Best
Venus is very clean hotel and staff so helpful, good decoration on the walls and very near by so many malls, mostly wifi is very strong and location is very excellent, in side all facilities have normally need to to use , I so like to Venus and I will sure will come back in future in Venus, mostly they providing welcome drinks on check in time , free distilled water provided , Joni is nice reception person

Terribly bad hotel
At time of checking in, my wife was disappointed a lot with this hotel and she wanted to go to other hotel. It was terribly bad. I wonder whetehr Hotels.com was not aware of this before. As a loyal customer, I strongly recommend you to remove this hotel out of your list.

When I booked the location, I didn't know what Chung King Mansion was. Arriving close to midnight with my family, we were all pretty shocked when we arrived. It's definitely a place to hustle. The 'mansion' hosts a ton of other guesthouses and inns. After checking in in one block of the mansion, we had to go to another block to get to our rooms. The service was good and the room was clean and spacious relative to other Hong Kong accommodations. They had a water dispenser and microwave right outside our room. Though the location is amazing, it is not a place for young kids at night. It was a lot less scary during the day. Overall, I would stay again if I were travelling with people my age and whoever wants to party, but not with young children.

really nice room but the complex is very shady
unfortunately we arrived at 04:30 am and couldn't get into a room we booked until 09:00 am. our flight was delayed and their desk isn't 24 hours. the room was clean and comforting, despite being small, it was worth the money we paid.
