Steigenberger, Lazarus Island hotels

"The rooms were clean but needed a little maintenance attention, new caulking, broken tiles etc. Some staff were excellent and some didn’t really seem to care much. We asked for a higher floor when checking in and they really dismissed us. We ended up on the 6th floor right by the lifts which was disappointing. "

"We stayed at Carlton Hotel Singapore for six nights and overall had a pleasant stay. The location is excellent — within easy walking distance of many restaurants, shopping areas, and major tourist attractions, which made exploring the city very convenient. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel worked well as a base for our time in Singapore. The only downside was the late-night check-in experience. We arrived around 2 a.m., and the staff member on duty was not particularly welcoming and made the process more difficult than expected. Considering Singapore’s usually high hospitality standards, this was a bit surprising. Aside from that moment, the stay was comfortable and the location remains a strong advantage of this hotel."

"Great location - above the Sommerset MRT station and near a few bus stops. The hotel is also surrounded by a few malls with lots of food and shopping options. Room is solidly appointed. Nice view from the pool. Staff were friendly and efficient. Though they messed up during check-in and forgot to request for my signature, so I had to go back to do that."
