I've never stayed at a hotel where I felt so much like a valued guest. Service is above and beyond. At the end of an 8-night stay, staff made me feel like I was leaving friends behind on our departure day. The hotel itself is in a perfect location between Westminster and Soho in the West End right near Trafalgar Square with both the Embankment and Charing Cross tube stations within easy walking distance. The decor is charming and oozes with history in line with the Scotland Yard theming. Their hidden speakeasy is a gem offering cocktails and jazz music a couple nights a week, as well as the 40 Elephants bar which we frequented a couple times for a nightcap and upscale snacks. We also loved our courtyard-facing room which was small but still felt luxurious, efficient, and filled with perfect touches. We loved having bedside outlets, a Nespresso machine with pods replenished daily, a cooling drawer kept stocked with both spring and sparkling water, a towel-warming rack, a bidet, and super-thick robes and slippers. The bed was supportive but cloud-like with a very warm (sometimes too warm) fluffy duvet. The water pressure in the shower with both rain head and hand-held wand was amazing. We returned to the room most nights to find chocolates waiting on our nightstands with a fresh fruit bowl also delivered to our breakfast table several times. I can say without exaggeration that the Great Scotland Yard hotel exceeded my expectations in multiple ways.

The staff and service were very good. The location was close to Trafalgar Square which is a fairly central location to many siteseeing areas The hotel is a short way down a side street which makes it a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle. The location also allowed us to get to several places we wanted to see and was convenient to the tube and bus stops.

Just off Whitehall, so close to everything, Thames, West Minister, shops, Underground. Absolutely stunning looking building front, quirky, well designed interior. Amazing/friendly /helpful staff. A nice, relaxed beautiful bar(Forty Elephants). Rooms-spotless, well equipped. With access straight into the Ekstedt restaurant on an evening, with service from the lovely, friendly chef, who cooked the most delicious 6 course taster meal we've ever tasted!! to the sommelier, who brought us the most delectable wines and explained the backstory to each one with such passion, and the hostess, waiters, and waitresses, nothing was too much trouble for anyone. I wouldn't hesitate to return here!!! We absolutely loved it!!!
