The name of this Hotel is somewhat grand in terms of what you actually get room wise (i only had a double room for the night, so not sure if they have better rooms) for the price, i would personally choose a travel lodge or premier Inn as they are much better in terms of their a standard double rooms and in a similar price bracket. The entrance to the President is very nice, and there are lots of very helpful friendly staff around, and check in is very straight forward and quick i found. The exterior of the building is kind of brutalist, which is fair enough, but it doesn't look like it's had much upkeep done to it for many decades. The double room we stayed in was very basic, and very dated. Awful curtains, and our room was facing another building where everyone could see into our room, so not a place to walk about in the nuddy. For £205 for 1 night, midweek i found the room expensive, i would say it would be good value around the £110? There are a real lack of plug sockets to charge phones etc, very thin walls so you can hear even low conversations in neighbouring rooms, and no control over the room temperature. We found the bed comfortable, but the pillows were pretty awful, leaving us with sore necks.
