The beach at Lovina stretches along the northern shoreline of Bali for more than 10kms. Its black volcanic sands are relaxing and a great place for visitors to check out. The beach and its background of trees are sandwiched between the Bali Sea and the Bedugul Mountains. The setting is very beautiful and becomes even more so as darkness begins to fall and the sun sets.Don’t Miss
For many visitors, Lovina’s attractions offer easy access to watersports and the chance of seeing playful dolphins close to the beach. A dolphin watching cruise provides more opportunities for interacting with these friendly creatures. Dive operators in Lovina run trips out to Menjangan Island where diving and snorkelling at a well-preserved coral reef is possible.
The hot springs at Air Banjar are nearby. Pools on different levels at the hot springs are fed by thermal water straight from the mouths of mythical naga dragon statues. Locals believe the water is a cure for a variety of sicknesses. Hotels such as the Lilin Lovina offer spa services onsite and holidaymakers are able to enjoy Balinese massages and beauty treatments.Restaurants and Bars
The centre of the action in Lovina is Kalibukbuk. The biggest concentration of restaurants and bars is in the village, but there are additional options on the beaches. In addition to Balinese dishes such as nasi goreng fried rice, lawar, and ikan bakar fish, diners will find restaurants serving Dutch and vegetarian cooking. Bars are relaxed, although there are a couple of discos that stay open late for party people.Shopping
Shopping options in Lovina are fairly limited and the few stores there sell typical Balinese souvenirs like masks, dolls, and colourful plates. One iconic Lovina souvenir is a carved wooden figure of a dolphin. There are plenty of T-shirts offered and some have amazing imagery with dragons on them. Shops also stock toiletries, suntan cream, and batik sarongs and shorts.
