But for all the focus on food, onsen, etc, don’t neglect the basics, like not leaving hair in the bedrooms and cleaning the walls properly. Cleanliness a definite negative. The design of the hotel with the small floating reception area also made it feel somewhat impersonal in my opinion."

"The room was very comfortable, and had adequate space, though one bed was pushed against the wall. Lots of helpful amenities. There were various refreshments in the lounge through out the day, which was nice. The onsen is small, but fully equipped. My only complaint was that there was a very bright light on a motion sensor in the entryway, and there was no way to turn it off. If you got up in the night to use the sink or toilet it came on blinding you (and anyone else) in the room. We found a creative solution, but there should be a way to turn the motion sensor off. "
