"Beautifully appointed and designed room, excellent location a few feet from major attraction, great breakfast and selection of food items and a very friendly and helpful staff. "
"If you’re looking for a truly unique and memorable experience. I highly recommend staying at Casale di Maria in Matera. Domenica goes above and beyond with her attentive and welcoming service. She offers great tips on getting around town, where to go, and the best restaurants to try. It was an unforgettable stay - unlike any other hotel I’ve visited."
"Beautiful hotel in the perfect location if you want to be right in the Sassi di Matera. Great restaurants and shops nearby, staff were all very friendly. "
"I have been traveling for 5 months and this hotel was by far my favorite! I was blown away by the attention to detail, the powerful ritual and symposium and the incredible heated pool surrounded by replicas of goddesses. The couples’ massage was wonderful and the staff and experience couldn’t have been better. Mindblowingly great! We loved it! "
"Perfect location. Modern standard but still close to the Sassi streets. Easy free parking on the street not far away. Miriam is a great host and you will be taken care of. Highly recommended 👍"
"Beautiful hotel, wonderful room, good breakfast. Matera is beautiful- one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. I would definitely recommend this hotel and to visit Matera."
"Very well located, in the center área, cars not allowed but paid parking is within walking distance. Friendly staff and city is a must see. Different from everything I have ever seen."
"Very enthusiastic young couple who own this beautifully restored historic house in a perfect location to visit the town of Matera. They did not speak much English, but whipped out their google translate for a very lively and enjoyable visit, including an amazing full breakfast of local produce."
"Beautiful decor, small boutique hotel with a great location one block from historical center, easy parking on street in front of hotel, very gracious staff"

"Staying in a cave room but having an entryway in the room with windows out on the gorgeous Matera scenery is perfect. We also had a porch with chairs to sit outside. The breakfast was amazing! Fresh and delicious food served to us by the most welcoming people you could ask for, Angela and Agnese. We also had a wonderful piano player, Gianni, at breakfast every day - now that's a first for us!. If we went back to Matera, which we hope to do some day, we would stay here again. The only negative is WiFi is not reliable in our room. Unfortunately across all of southern Italy our 5g T-mobile plan didn't work either so we used physical maps. We stayed a week and so were able to see a lot of this magnificent area. Most people only stay two or three nights and I feel that is not enough. "
"This is an outstanding hotel in a good location. The checkin process was seamless. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was great and the roof terrace was good for a drink in the afternoon."
"The most beautiful and unique hotel. We were taken care of with their excellent concierge before we even got to Italy. The room was exquisite, the food beautiful and I would recommend the candlelit dinner for two. It was the most wonderful and romantic experience. "
"Il Palazzotto in Matera is an absolute GEM! From the breathtaking cave lobby and dining area to our spacious, beautifully decorated room, every detail was charming and elegant. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a glass of Palazzo Zimara Susumaniello, so exquisite it was unforgettable! Breakfasts were delightful, the boutique rupestrian style combined with modern comforts and the incredible Sassi location, made our stay truly exceptional. Viviana, Irene, and Antonio’s warm, and impeccable hospitality completed a perfect experience. Thank you all!! We will wholeheartedly recommend this magical hotel to friends and family!
