"The location, way in the mountains, was gorgeous; the innkeepers were hospitable and such nice people. We enjoyed our two-night stay veery much. Two points to make: 1) while the hotel says it’s a B&B, one doesn’t get one unless you request it in advance. The website should make that clear. 2) the place is very difficult to find since there is no sign on Route 299 to lead guests to Monomori Inn on a side road, with the inn being up a little ways. Otherwise, we recommend it highly!"

"Staying here was one of the highlights of our entire trip. The view from our bedroom was absolutely stunning - I miss it already. The giant windows made for such a special place experience. If you can afford the river facing rooms, it is an absolute must. The view of the stars at night, especially through the provided binoculars, was breathtaking. "Room was smaller than expected (about 10 tatami). Onsen was fine. Food was tasty, and changed the second day, which is nice. The ryokan building itself is quite pretty. It's easy enough to find, less than a 10 minute walk from the station. It is in the middle of a town, so it doesn't feel very rural, but I guess that's a tradeoff for the convenience of the location. And since it's in a town, it's quite easy to walk out to cafes, restaurants, convenience store, etc. Staff were all very friendly....
