"We got a warm and friendly welcome as soon as we entered the bar. Although the pub is traditional and in a perfect setting by the canal it clearly needs updating as did our room. The benches are rotting away and the exterior is in need of a general tidy up. Our room was very dated and the beds old and uncomfortable. The bathroom was an adequate size though the shower was mouldy and hardly any hot water. We had to go back to the bar area which is downstairs and outside through a courtyard area to get a remote control for the TV and teabags as there was only 1. We didn't have breakfast as we stayed over for an early morning flight from Birmingham which was very handy being only 20 mins away. We had an evening meal which was Malaysian themed but unfortunately they ran out of my choice very early and I did settle for an alternative which was freshly cooked and tasty. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly but the pub itself and rooms definitely need refinishing."

"Room booked for two. But only has towels etc for one guest. Requested additional towel and given a flimsy towel from the spa. Also after having shower the bathroom floor was wet from leak in shower but no floor towel or hand towel to use to mop up water causing floor to be slippery. Breakfast was Buffett due to having coeliac disease should have been offered freshly cooked breakfast to avoid contamination "

"Four of us ordered food at the sports bar, 2 came with in 15 mins, then next 2 took 1hr 10. Every single time you go to the bar, they ass service to this. Everyone that was staying had to ask for it to be removed, staff were pretty miserable. Especially after asking fo the service to be removed. We were woken up at 2am and told we were been too loud, we had the tv on that’s all, not sure what else we can do there. Breakfast was chaos, far too busy. Food ran out very quickly. I heard quite a few other guests complaining about various things. Was very much looking forward to the stay, but somewhat left feeling disappointed. "

"Very clean room, massive spaces. Parking was loads of space. All you have to do is input your reg. "

"What a beautiful oasis...set in peaceful pretty surroundings. The spa was fantastic,dinner was amazing and the breakfast ..out of this world. The staff so polite and helpful. Il be back..just what I needed. "
