This situation escalated unnecessarily and delayed me for approximately 45 minutes to an hour. At one point, I was even prevented from leaving the hotel, which was extremely stressful as I had a flight to catch. Only after I firmly stated that I would contact the police did the situation change, and eventually, a supervisor intervened and allowed me to leave without any additional payment. I have stayed at this same hotel before without any issues, which made this experience even more surprising and disappointing. As a legal professional, I was able to stand my ground, but I am deeply concerned that other guests may be pressured or misled into paying unjustified charges. I respectfully request that Expedia look into this matter seriously and take appropriate action to ensure that customers are protected from such practices in the future.
