Had a pleasant stay in Munich! **Room:** Spacious enough for two people with large luggage, comfy beds, and although decorated in an old style, it was impeccably clean – a solid 5-star for cleanliness. The occasional church clock chime in the afternoon added charm without disrupting our sleep at night. **Location:** Situated across from the beautiful St. Paul Church, and conveniently just a few steps from the U-Bahn metro station. The tram is also within walking distance, making it easy to explore the city. **Staff:** The staff was friendly, although their advice on nearby areas was somewhat limited. **Note:** Be prepared for the challenge of navigating numerous stairs from the front door to the elevator, especially if you have large luggage. Overall, a comfortable stay with a few quirks.

Very clean and spacious room for 4, with a balcony! Good location within easy walking to the Altstadt and Hauptbahnhof, and plenty of food options close by. Amazing breakfast with great variety. Very attentive and friendly staff. They let us park early before check in with no questions asked. Only item to improve was the shower which didn’t drain. But otherwise highly recommended.

PERFECT LOCATION, GREAT STAFF. A BIT DATED HOWEVER IF YOU ARE DOING IS VISITING MUNICH THE SPOT IS PERFECT. NO AC BUT THEY KINDLY PROVIDED US WITH A FAN. Good location, friendly staff. Manager also let us check in earlier. Basic but good breakfast. Very clean dining room. Property was a bit old but then newer properties cost much more. I'll call it value to money and special thanks to the managers.

A nice stay for a nice price.
Stay was great. Had most of everything you needed. Could have done with bigger pillows, or extra. They were very small. Quite a walk into the old town which did not bother us, but others may feel it’s not the best location if you need to keep going back to room. Great value for money however.

Excellent Service - Good Location - clean Hotel
Nice location very the Central Train Station and about 20 minutes walk from the Munich Rathaus Glockenspiel. The room was clean and comfortable for a solo traveller. The front desk staff was exceptionally friendly. My delayed flight arrived into Munich later than front desk hours. I called the hotel from the airport and she waited until I arrived. She was very pleasant and gave great customer service.

Very comfortable beds. Rooms spacious for four people. Good location. So glad I read other reviews about the lift - don’t take your luggage up the stairs to reception. There is a lift down the back that goes straight up to the rooms.

Good to be in a practical location, quiet, comfortable bed, big windows, friendly staff and reassuringly modern lift. Shame the bathroom is the original 60s version, tissues were never restocked over 4 nights and there are lots of up and down steps before your ever reach the lift at the very back of the long hotel.

The staff is very nice and friendly but the owner should start renovating the place very soon. The room has a stale smell as soon as you walk in. You wouldn't want to walk barefoot on the carpet. The safe doesn't work. Everything feels like they barely survive the cold war. If you have a heavy suitcase, please beware that you have to lug your suitcase up and down at least 3-4 staircases before you can get to the elevator. The location is pretty decent though. It's a safe walking distance from the rowdy area of Munich train station, and just half a block away from an UBahn station. If you just simply need a bed to crash at night for cheap, then this place serves just that.

Friendly hotel
It‘s located 25 min from the Marienplatz on foot. We knew in advance that the elevator is accessible directly from the back door, so we didn’t move our large luggage up the stairs to the reception. The hotel staff was very friendly and helped us with the luggage. The room is a bit dated in condition but was clean and tidy and spacious. There was no electric kettle in the room but you can get one from the reception. Be reminded that the reception and the front door closes at 10pm in night. The breakfast is very good with wide variety of ham choices. I think the rate matches the quality and service!

Disappointed to find that our request for lower floor rooms was not forthcoming. However, the staff re-roomed us on day 2. The room which two of us occupied on floor 1, did not have any complimentary toiletries. No tea/coffee making facilities. No hot breakfast available but a lightly boiled egg was given when requested. However, our stay was enjoyable, the rooms were warm and all the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Central location (10 mins to station) and good weather helped.

The stay was fine. There are no English channels on the TV which was a bit annoying and the bed was quite uncomfortable. However, the staff were good and gave me an extra pillow and duvet which helped a lot.

While the hotel is in a good area and the staff are polite and helpful, the hotel and its offering urgently needs an upgrade to keep up with the times. It feels very dated and it a shame because it could be a lot better.

Had to stop for 1 night in Munich while travelling. This hotel is functional and central. It is only a few hundred meters away from the main train station which is convenient if using trains. The building is a bit old but quite well kept. It's a functional hotel - some stairs at the entrance can be avoided by using a side entrance at street level which takes you directly to a lift. Although ancient, this lift serves its purpose! The room ww had for 3 people was ok for 1 night. It happened to be a hot day so an air conditioner would have been nice, however a portable fan was provided. Some air from the adjoining terrace made for a pleasant night's sleep. Although compact, the room was comfortable, had a mini bar and good bathroom. Breakfast was fine - nothing spectacular but enough to kick off the day. With some attention and refurbishing, this hotel could be a great place to spend a few nights.

One bed room is small but sufficient for a one person overnight stay. Breakfast buffet was good with good selection of food. Service was prompt. Only downside. Credit card charge contains hidden fee of service provider.

Good central location near train & transit (10 minute walk) & about 20 minutes or so walk to old town. But prepare to choose between an open window to allow some air flow (no AC) & lots of noise through the night. With the window closed, ear plugs block most noise, but you will be hot. Good feather pillows. Breakfast is good, and you can grab a few things for lunch as well.

FYI if you book online with American Express, you cannot use an American Express while checking in at the hotel... or can you? After finding a new hotel to stay at, the owner threatened to charge our card regardless if we didn't stay, but could not use it at the time of checkout? I would have much rather saved the trouble of finding and booking a new hotel in Munich for Oktoberfest, it was insanely expensive and my only option given the situation.

Nice stay in Munich
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Fidelio. It was a short walk from the train station and convenient for all we did while in Munich. We would definitely stay here again.
