Sunset at the Palms Resort - Adults Only - All Inclusive
6/10 Okay
"Gorgeous Polynesian effects of the structural theme. I am an avid World traveler, my review comes from knowing vast cultures
-no pride in keeping the wood maintained
- rain gutters not maintained
- grounds have beautiful vegetation but simple aspects such as clipping off dead leaves, weeds, not well respected by staff.
-staff often times were not smiling, appeared to not seem happy, most staff but not all seemed cold, no pride in representing their resort and country to guests/tourists who have come to visit and enjoy their country.
-my room was just fine, it was amazing for listening to nature all night and the rain storms!
-the food was ok, same mostly daily. i am not picky about that , but some guests I had met did not like it.
- I did not like drinking my cocktails from cafeteria style cups and plastic stemware
-A Jamaican is the owner of this property. I would like to see him take more pride in staffing a good foundation of employees excited to represent his brand to travelers excited to explore Negril.
- Coffee bar is a cute idea, coffee was very weak.
- Staff was always picking up tableware as if they were closing down way too soon. Tables should be left made up until complete closure of dining hours not while guest are still eating , sitting. Guests that arrive towards closing should not feel as though they cannot still sit for their meals.
- I observed staff daily sitting on their cell phones, not interacting with guests."
"Floors were slick after the rain which caused me to fall. Room floors were also very slippery, but clean. Staff comes in at odd hours and even during the late evening when you might be out and found my credit card and stole my numbers"
"Beautiful place to stay in Negril if you want to avoid the resort and get a more familiar experience right on the beach!! Everything was spot on can’t recommend this place enough hopefully I will visit soon at least once a year 😜"
"Overall the Samsara is a Beautiful resort. Can use Alot of upgrades innthe rooms. Once the upgrades to the rooms are handled, this will definitely be the go to spot in Negril. Close to so much. I would recommend adding some lights at the front entrance, water fall going down the ramp to the rooms. More nightly theme events, maybe.
The staff, started off rocky, but later that evening, we were singing ad dancing with each other.
Make sure you check out the bartender Tina. AMAZING
ALSO, MS JENNIFER at check in Amazing. Be patient that's all.
If you can fit towels and washcloths in your bag or buy when you land. You will be fine."
"The staff did not know how to use the cash register. They made charges to our room even though we paid cash at the bar and the restaurant. Meaning they charged us twice for the same items. The bill also stated we made purchases from the gift shop, which we did not. We did not notice the charges until we reviewed the itemized bill. We will never stay here again."
"Pay more and go somewhere else ..all inclusive for 2 options of food per meal period no snack bar , you may not like food options I had one lunch period they had hotdogs and fish for lunch as the only options they told me they would allow me to pick something from paid menu since I did not like any of the options for free they reversed the decision then charged me. The guy in front reception should be cleaning has no personality to be handling the front desk, the staff at the bar if you are not white prefer to eat their food or clean rather than to serve you a drink, rooms are not the most clean, you have to pay for a fridge 10 bucks a day even though their options are super limited this should be free, no beach towels had to buy them at the gift shop, limited umbrellas in front of beach which is ridiculous you cannot even enjoy the beach without scavenging for a beach umbrella. No entertainment at all you may get one night with music if you are lucky. When you ask front desk for towels when the cleaning personnel takes towel away they said they do not have none. Bad experience only reason I stood was due to Expedia not wanting to refund. Even when you ask for paid meals some off the staff hesitates and gives you attitude they need a supervisor to supervisor the individuals just hanging around instead of serving clients. The only positive was the beach that’s all this place has going for it even the WiFi is slow."
"This property had the potential to be excellent with all the palm trees, the name was ideal (Negril Palms). Upon arrival, right by the door entrance is machinery covered with blue tarp. Hence, the first impression implied ‘we don’t care’. Our family were attending a funeral, and 11 members stayed at Negril Palms. It was shocking that we all had similar experiences. The rooms are spacious, but with very poor care, and the room cleaning staff pay no attention to detail. No amount of laundry will get the rags and towels back to white, a full replacement is needed even with the shower mats for the floor. With industrial strength chemical, the commodes staining can be easily rectified, but you only have to care about your guests experience. On a good note, the kitchen staff saved the trip, Miss Samatha we thank you for the excellent breakfast services. Not sure we’ll be repeat Negril Palms guests, or recommend it to friends or family. Please take the opportunity to improve this exceptional property."
