The beach was enjoyable and safe to swim in. Vallarta Adventures has a fun tour to Majahuita also. The buses are an affordable safe and fun option to tour the city. Not once did we need to ride share.

Beautiful green area with mountains. I enjoyed walking on the beach in the morning where I watched Stingrays swimming in the waves. I often felt that as a single person, many restaurant staff would ignore me for couples or families.

Lived there for 3 years. Incredible city away from Vallarta. This place seemed like a tourist meat grinder. Give yourselves ample time for everything. Their staffing is inadequate for the amount of guests.

It's a bit away from the main city.. so not much to do around in walking distance..but staying in the resort was amazing.. and they have quite a few activities available..

"The RIU service is outstanding. Staff were friendly and accommodating across the facility, and went out of their way to make everyone’s experience special. The food is very good, with some items being exceptional. Flavours were good, there was lots of variety, and the presentation was great. The beach is wonderful, with a large expanse of clean sand and fun waves. There were always available beach chairs (we didn’t use the pools much as we prefer the beach generally) and there are food and drinks available at the beach, including both a snack bar and lunch buffet. The facilities are being cleaned constantly, which makes it very pleasant. The cleaners work so hard!! The rooms are spacious and comfortable enough but a bit dated (didn’t bother us), and the hotel accommodated my online floor request with no issues. The mini bar is restocked every 2nd day, which worked fine for us, and bottled water is provided. We were pleased to hear about renovations happening soon. The grounds are stunning, with a beautiful central fountain area. Zero hassle at check in and check out and the lobby staff are always willing to assist should help be needed. The pop-up bars are a fun touch. Mexican night was wonderful. My only criticism is that more seating is needed for the evening shows. They are well attended and very entertaining but we left early most nights because there were no available seats. Otherwise, Well done, RIU team!"

He was phenomenal, handling every detail effortlessly. He even booked restaurants with the best views before we even thought to ask, managed all our last-minute changes, and ensured our airport transportation was perfectly set. For anyone traveling to Mexico, if you have the opportunity, staying at Grand Velas is an absolute must; it's undeniably the best all-inclusive resort."
