"The breathtaking views of the river/reservoir of Guatapé are well presented as a backdrop of the Brown hotel. The restaurant felt upscale and the unlimited delicious breakfast and dinner did not disappoint. Get the breakfast included in your package -it’s a GREAT VALUE. Diego our server at the lobby level restaurant was outstanding - anticipating our needs before we even articulated them. We did a beautiful tour of the reservoir and a tour to climb the Piedra Del Peñol and see the small city in Guatape -Gabriel was an excellent tour guide. I enjoyed The Brown so much I’m honestly considering coming back for my 50th next year for a few days with friends. The room was a little small but who cares when you have a large balcony with breathtaking views of the river. The food, vibe, and atmosphere didn’t disappoint. Also what a beautiful gym. Go here - you’ll feel like you found a best kept secret!!"

"Place was like a dream. As you enter you have a long driveway with beautiful palm trees. The place is beautiful. Clean. I was greeted by Margaret and her lovely white wolf dog. She checked us in right away. The room was large and had a great view of the lake reservoir. The sunrise is amazing here. The breakfast was 5 stars. If you’re thinking of staying in Guatape this is where you should stay. Only 15 min from the monolith."

"This place is a mixed bag. The staff service is excellent. The food in the restaurant is excellent. 5 stars for the staff and service. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as nice as possible. The rooms are bare bones. Our room had no place to hang things or to place your suitecase. No soap for the sink. The shower flooded the bathroom due to poor design. And a generator in the room next door was grinding until 2:00 am! My daughter's room flooded when it rained. The property and rooms need work."
