"I wish I could give this place more than five stars! Luxurious and peaceful, with very well appointed rooms and endless thoughtful amenities. Very kind hosts (the cats and the humans alike). My husband is allergic to cats and had no issues in the cat-free room, while I very much enjoyed visiting with the cats on the well decorated lanaiโs and grounds. A magical stay from start to finish. Mahalo!"

"The Hamakua was amazing. It was everything you could want in a boutique hotel. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. The every room has an incredible view of gardens overlooking the Pacific. The staff, Belle and Sabrina were the best, If you are there for one of Chef Josephโs meals donโt miss it!"

"Lory and Stewart were gracious hosts, and their property is a quaint island getaway! The room was clean and nicely furnished. The back yard was huge and beautiful. And the breakfasts served on the back porch were delicious and a nice opportunity to converse with the hosts and other guests."

"Perfect place to stay for a couples getaway if youโre visiting The Big Island. Staff were always able to help whenever we needed them. Being greeted by Coconut Jake every morning was the perfect way to start the day. Greeting Miss Kitty in the evening after a long day of fun and adventure was a treat as well. Rooms provide all the things youโd need when on vacation: beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, hair dryer, bathroom supplies, etc. I could go on about all the great things about this place, but the ratings and reviews speak for themselves. Just book it!"

"Bring mosquito repellent. Waterfall was nice. If frog croaking sounds bother you bring ear plugs. I found it peaceful. If fact I found a frog in my room the first morning."
